Use Your Scraps To Create Banners - Alternative Paper Pumpkin Card Idea - January 2024 - Stampin Up!

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey.

Over the last week or so I have shared some great card ideas you can make with one set of supplies from this month’s kit. Today I am sharing with you my seventh and last alternative card using the January 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Lovely Lavender. The projects from this kit are really beautiful, it creates a total of 8 greeting card 4 in two different designs, and 4 tags. If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and create these cards click on the playlist link below.

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them a full supply list is below. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store.

One thing I like to do with my scraps is create banners. There are so many different ways you can use banners on cards. Today I sharing a unique way to get the scraps to work for you.

1- Cut 1” from the left of the Purple Cardbase.

2- Stamp “Love” in the center of the larger piece. Add “You” from “Just A Little Something For You” underneath. Add this to the cardbase with about 1/8” on the right as a border.

3- Tear the right side of the 1” x 5 ½” strip so it shows the white core of the paper.

Add the 1” strip with the torn edge on the right with dimensionals. There should be some space to slide the banners underneath. There will also be a 1/8" space on the left side as a border.

4- Take all your scraps and cut fish tail banner shapes from the right side. Slide them underneath the 1” strip below the greeting. Layer them to create a pleasing grouping. You can add a dimensional on the right side to give depth if you want.

5- Add the last piece from the Large Leaf Die Cut near the banners. I liked the white side showing.

6- Tie a bow with 10” of Linen Thread and add near the greeting with a small glue dot.

All Done!
