It is time for another tutorial for the Global Stampin’ Video Hop on YouTube. Each month on the fourth Friday Stampin’ Up Demonstrators from around the world come together and share their projects based on a monthly theme. September’s Theme is – One Layer Cards. I am so excited to see what everyone creates.
This was such a great challenge. I tend to add a lot of layers to my cards so today I am keeping things simple. There are some great tips & techniques that I share in the tutorial below that can give one layer cards some pizzazz.
I hope you are inspired today as you see all the fun techniques from everyone while jumping from video to video. If you are inspired to make a project from something you see today please share it with us, we would love to see what you come up with. You can tag me @creativechelsey in any social media post.
Make sure to check out what everyone makes for this monthly Video Hop. You can start with my video, I have linked it below. You can find the next video at the top of the video’s description on YouTube. Have fun!

Here are a couple other ideas you can make with the same techniques used for the original card:

Here are the dimensions and pieces you will need to
create this card:
Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
Sponge Craft Brush
1- Begin by decided what shape and size you want to mask for your greeting. Add it to the card front where you are going to stamp your greeting. For this card I cut a 1” x 5” strip from Masking Paper and added it about 2” from the bottom of the card.
2- Stamp your images around the masked area. I used almost all the images from the Artistically Inked Set. If you want to add a multi color image for more depth, use a Sponge Dauber to add a darker ink after inking first in the lighter ink.
Soft Sea Foam – Background image on top and bottom of the
masked strip
Calypso Coral & Pumpkin Pie – Large Flower in bottom
left corner
Daffodil Delight & Crushed Curry – Smaller Flower one on bottom and one on top of masked strip
Old Olive – Leaves near flowers
Pumpkin Pie – Tiny Flowers
Early Espresso – Dots
3- Add Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the center of the flowers, use a sponge craft brush to spread out slightly. Add some small glue drops. I also added a little glue along the edges of the masking strip. Let dry.
4- Remove the Masking Paper. If it is too tacky you can heat it with a Heat Tool on low setting. See video.
5- Once dry the glue should be tacky. Add Gilded Leafing over the glue. Remove excess Gilded Leafing.
6- Stamp your greeting in the opening from the masked area. I used Early Espresso ink.
All Done!
