It is time for another tutorial for the Global Stampin’ Video Hop on YouTube. Each month on the fourth Friday Stampin’ Up Demonstrators from around the world come together and share their projects based on a monthly theme. August’s Theme is – Fun Folds! I am so excited to see what everyone creates.
The card I created today is a Horizontal Easel Fun Fold card. I was inspired by the warm August days, flowers, and colors. I also wanted to play around with the Trucking Along Stamp Set (online only) and felt that today’s Fun Fold Theme perfectly paired with adding a Sliding Element. I have a great tip to share on how to hide the opening and get a smooth movement every time.
I hope you are inspired today as you see all the fun techniques from everyone while jumping from video to video. If you are inspired to make a project using one of the Fun Fold cards you see today please share it with us, we would love to see what you come up with. You can tag me @creativechelsey in any social media post.
Make sure to check out what everyone makes for this monthly Video Hop. You can start with my video, I have linked it below. You can find the next video at the top of the video’s description on YouTube. Have fun!

1- Cut DSP & Score Cardbase. Add DSP to coordinating areas.
• 2” x 5 3/8”
DSP add to front of cardbase.
• 1 1/8” x 5
3/8” add to 1 ¼” x 5 ½” strip of Mossy Meadow. Place on the inside of the
cardbase with dimensionals. This will hold the easel part of the card up.
2- From the Light Woodgrain Pattern 3 1/8” x 4 3/8” piece cut with your Paper Trimmer a ¼” opening about ½” from the bottom & sides.
3- Stamp & Color your background images directly onto the Designer Series Paper about 1” from the base.
Outlines: Memento Black
Trees: Old Olive, Trunk: Soft Suede Marker
Clouds: Boho Blue (no outline) stamped twice to get a
lighter image.
Sunflowers: Crushed Curry, Leaves: Granny Apple Green
Marker, Centers: Soft Suede Marker
4- Place a ¼” x 1” Dimensional border piece from the Mini Dimensionals centered on one of the Thick Chipboard pieces (horizontally).
Place it behind the opening.
Cover with the second Thick Chipboard piece. This will be the sliding mechanism for the truck.
5- Attach the Light Woodgrain Pattern to the Mossy Meadow 3 ¼” x 4 ½” piece with Foam Adhesive Strips since these are slightly thicker than Dimensionals. Make sure to add a strip above and below the Thick Chipboard to support it.
6- Attach the ¾” x 1 ¼” Basic White piece to the top of the Chipboard with the bottom sides matching. This will be attached to the back of the Truck so we can hide the opening.
7- Attach the Dark Woodgrain Pattern: 7/8” x 4 3/8” over the opening with Foam Adhesive Strips on the left & right sides only.
8- Stamp other images and fussy cut out.
Outlines: Memento Black Ink
Truck: Cherry Cobbler
Flowers: Use a Stampin’ Write Marker to add color to the
different sections – Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape, Crushed Curry – Leaves:
Granny Apple Green, Containers: Soft Suede
Tires: Basic Gray
Farm Fresh: VersaMark & White Embossing Powder
(2) Sunflowers: Crushed Curry, Leaves: Granny Apple Green
Marker, Centers: Soft Suede Marker
9- Add the Truck to the top of the Basic White strip with dimensionals.
10- Add one of the Sunflowers in the bottom right corner of the Dark Woodgrain Pattern with liquid glue.
11- On the 1 3/8” Crushed Curry Circle, stamp your greeting in VersaMark, add White Embossing Powder, and heat set. Add a little ink to the center with a Blending Brush to make the greeting pop.
Create a faux bow with 12” of Linen Thread and add to the back of the greeting. Place with a dimensional in the sky and tuck one of the Sunflowers behind it.
12- Inside: Stamp a Tree, Containers of Flowers and greeting in Memento Black in the bottom left corner. Color as above. Add to the inside of the card.
