Two Simple & Fun Cards YOU CAN MAKE with the May 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Exploring In Color!

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my third alternative idea using the May 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Exploring In Color.

This fun outdoor themed kit creates 9 handmade cards. There are enough supplies to make three of each card. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative projects.

Today I am sharing with you two cards that use sections of the cardbases in the kit. You can use any sections, sizes & shapes with these ideas. The first card shows how you can layer the section over a larger white base and stamp a greeting to make it look like a polaroid film. The second card shows how you can create an opening just large enough for the section, giving it a peek-a-boo look.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

Card Prepping

1- Cut the front of the Canoe Cardbase at 3”. This will give you a 1 ¼” section from the right side of the paper. Trim this strip to 5 ¼” by removing a small section of sky.

2- Cut the 3” section at 3” to give you a square around the canoe. Save the Mountain section for a future project.

Card #1

1- Emboss the 4” x 5 ¼” Boho Blue piece with your choice of embossing folder. Add splatter with a coordinating Stampin’ Write Marker, I used Boho Blue. Add this the your cardbase.

2- Cut the Moody Mauve angled piece in half and add it about ¾” from the bottom of the cardbase with each side about ¼” from the edge of the card. This is create a gap that you will cover with the “polaroid picture” element.

3- Layer the canoe image over the White 3 ¼” x 4” piece with an even border around the sides and top, leaving a larger space at the bottom for a greeting.

4- Stamp your greeting in Copper Clay ink at the bottom of your “picture”.

5- Wrap 16” of Linen Thread around the base of the “picture” and tie a bow on the left side.

6- Add this over the gap at a slight angle with dimensionals.

7- Add the compass die cut with a dimensional near the bow.

All Done!

Card #2

1- Rub Copper Clay ink to the top inside of your choice of embossing folder. Emboss the 3” x 5 ¼” Copper Clay piece.

2-  Cut ¾” from the right edge. Distress the inside edges of both pieces.

3- Adhere the Copper Clay pieces with dimensionals along the outside edges only. Make sure to leave about a 1” gap for your landscape strip.

4- Adhere the landscape strip to the cardbase between the two Copper Clay pieces. Then add more dimensionals behind the Copper Clay piece if you need to.

5- Stamp your greeting with Copper Clay ink on a label, I used a 2 ¼” circle from the Stylish Shape Dies. Add it to the left of the landscape with dimensionals.

All Done!
