September 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Two Alternative Card Ideas using Simple Shapes - Stampin' Up

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my first alternative card idea using the September 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Haunts & Harvest. This kit comes with everything you need to make 12 super cute fall themed treat boxes. What I like to do is that those supplies and with a couple things from my craft space, turn them into cards. These simple cards use basic shapes to create a background elements for the greeting. You can recreate these cards with any pattern paper, and stamps you have. . I would love to see your finished creations that are inspired by this tutorial! You can tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com. I love creating alternative cards with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more as I continue to create with this month’s kit

1- Create a fun texture on the Basic White Cardstock. On my first card I created a watercolor wash with Pale Papaya & Pumpkin Pie ink, then splattered on some Poppy Parade.

For my second card I used the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

Add this to the front of the cardbase.

2- From the Treat Boxes in the kit cut out three shapes in different patterns. For my first card I used the hexagons from the base of the boxes.

For my second card I trimmed the panels down to 7/8” x 2 7/8” rectangles.

Add these in the bottom right corner.

3- Unravel one of the wire raffia pieces to remove the raffia covering from the wire. Add this to the center of the pattern papers. For my first card I opened it as wide as it will go and added it straight on from one side to the other – about 4”. For my second card I twisted the remaining piece to create a “vine” look and added it in a more organic shape across the rectangles.

4- Stamp your greeting in Soft Succulent ink on the tags from the kit. Tie a bow with 10” of Linen Thread and attach it to the greeting. For my first card I placed it near the hole of the tag. For my second card I removed the tag hole and placed the bow on the back of the greeting. Add these to the card with dimensionals over the raffia.

5- Stamp the Leaf Veins image from the kit in Soft Succulent on two of the Leaf Die Cuts. Add them around the greeting on each card with dimensionals.

All Done!
