Handmade How To Tutorial - Color Lifting with just Water & NEW Stampin Up Forever Blossoms Stamp Set

Today I would like to share a new technique where you can lift or remove color using only water. In this video I show you two different ways to use this technique. The first – to add highlights to the flowers and leaves, the second – to add a splatter effect to the background. I am also using some new products from the new Mini Catalog. These products will be available between January thru June 2020. I hope you enjoy this video!

1- On the 4.25” x 5.5” Stamp the flowers with black ink twice. I placed one a little higher on the left side and then rotated the image and stamped again in the bottom right corner. We will be coloring only one flower and leaving the other black and white.
2- To color the image start with the Lovey Lipstick ink pad and a sponge dauber. Get ink on your dauber and add it to the center of each flower. On the small flower buds add it to the base of each one using the side of the dauber. Clean off the dauber with some scrap paper.
3- Add Melon Mambo to the outside of each flower and the tops of the buds with a sponge dauber. It is okay if the color goes outside the lines.
4- Get a new sponge dauber and with the Call Me Clover ink pad add green to both the leaves and the stems. If you want a darker color just add more ink to that area.
5- With an aqua painter add some water to a clear block. This is going to give you more water to work with. This technique uses a lot of water to lift the color. Grab a paper towel.

6- Get some extra water on your aqua painter. Add water to the tips of one petal.
Next soak up the water your just applied with the paper towel.
Last clean the aqua painter with the paper towel.
Repeat these steps for each petal and leaf.
Tip: You want to make sure you clean your brush each time or you will be adding color instead of removing it.
7- Heat the image with a heat tool this will dry the areas and help lighten them up.
8- Using the coordinating die cut out both flowers with a big shot or die machine.
9- On the 2.75” x 4.25” Whisper White cardstock use a sponge dauber to add Bermuda Bay ink to the entire piece.
10- Get some water in a small bowl and move your other papers away from your work area so they don’t get wet. Using your fingertips splatter water on the Bermuda Bay colored paper.
Then soak up the color with a paper towel. Repeat to get the desired look you want.
11- Heat with a heat tool.
12- On the Black strip of cardstock stamp the greeting in VersaMark Ink and apply White embossing powder. Heat with your heat tool. Cut down the strip to fit nicely around the greeting.
13- Last thing before apply everything to the card – run the Blushing Bride cardstock through the big shot with the Subtle Embossing Folder. This gives the paper a nice texture.
14- Fold the card base and adhere the Blushing Bride cardstock first at an angle. Then add the gold stitched DSP on top at an angle.
15- Add the Bermuda Bay piece in the center at a different angle and then adhere the black and white flower to the top with the steam on the bottom right corner and the flowers in the left corner area.
16- Add the color flowers to the top of the black and white flower with dimensionals. You want some of the black and white to peek out behind the color flowers.
17- Add the greeting by the base of the steams. Place two dimensionals at each end and place it straight on the card.

18- Add some rhinestones around the greeting.

All done!
