TAGS or CARDS? You Decide Which Alternative Idea To Make From The August 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit

Hi Everyone and welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Over the next couple days I am going to share with you a ton of great card ideas you can make with one set of supplies from the August 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Time For Cake.

The projects from this kit are so fun and perfect to celebrate any birthday, from young to old. The fun Balloon and Candle images have beautiful Rose Gold Foil details and go perfect with the rich colors. This month we received 2 stamp sets in the kit which complement each other perfectly. The kit creates a total of 9 greeting cards 3 in three different designs. If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and create these cards click on the playlist below.

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog –

From these two projects I am sharing today, you can choose between making them as gift tags or turn them into cards. First we will make the tags and then I will show how easy it is to add them to a cardbase. They are so cute & easy.

Tag or Card #1 – Birthday Candles

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 4 ¼” x 11” scored at 5 ½”

Pretty In Pink Cardstock – 1” x 2 ¾”

Petal Pink Cardbase – kit 4” x 5 ¼”

Candle Cardbase Piece – kit 2 ¼” x 3 ¾”

Two Candle Die Cuts - kit

1- Angle all four corners of the 2 ¼” x 3 ¾” Candle Cardbase Piece we cut from the first set of alternative cards I shared yesterday.

2- Stamp “make a wish” in Night of Navy on the left side of the 1” Pretty in Pink Strip. Add this about 1” from the bottom of the Tag with dimensionals.

3- Stamp the Small Candle image inside the Candle Dies Cut in Night of Navy ink. Repeat for the second one. Add these to the right side of the greeting with dimensionals.

Tag: Punch a hole at the top and string a ribbon through to make a tag. Attach to present or gift bag.

Card: Cut the Petal Pink Cardbase from the kit in half and trim down to 4” x 5 ¼”. Splatter some Night of Navy ink in the top left and bottom right corners. Add to the Basic White Cardbase. Adhere the Tag to the center with dimensionals. Add some Embellishments.

Tag or Card #2 – Balloon

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 4 ¼” x 11” scored at 5 ½”

Petal Pink Cardstock – 2 ¼” x 3 ¾”

Large Balloon Die Cut – kit

Sprinkles Strip – kit

Petal Pink Cardbase – kit 4” x 5 ¼”

One Candle Die Cuts – kit

Envelope White Back Side – kit

1- Angle all four corners of the 2 ¼” x 3 ¾” Petal Pink Piece. Stamp both Balloons randomly in Petal Pink ink.

2- Add the Large Balloon Die Cut to the left side of the Tag with dimensionals. Add the Sprinkles Strip about 1 ¼” from the bottom and over the Balloon, add dimensionals under on the right side.

3- Stamp “make a wish” in Night of Navy under the Sprinkles Strip. TIP: Make sure there is no extra ink on the Clear Block before stamping’ this will keep any ink off the other pieces.

4- Stamp the Small Candle image inside the Candle Dies Cut in Night of Navy ink. Add to the left side of the strip with dimensionals.

5- If you want to add a number, stamp it in Boho Blue ink on the White Envelope Back piece and fussy cut out. Add near the Candle on the strip with dimensionals.

Tag: Punch a hole at the top and string a ribbon through to make a tag. Attach to present or gift bag.

Card: Trim the Petal Pink Cardbase from the kit down to 4” x 5 ¼”. Add to the Basic White Cardbase. Adhere the Tag to the center with dimensionals. Add some Embellishments.

I have also created a video walking you through each step.
