February 2023 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card Ideas - Sunshine & Smiles Kit - Stampin' Up! - Clear Cardbase Plus A Clean & Simple Card.

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my first alternative idea using the February 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Sunshine & Smiles.

This fun kit creates 9 springtime handmade cards. These are the intended cards you can make with the kit. There are enough supplies to make three of each card. They are the perfect way to send a little note to bring sunshine & smiles to your loved ones.

What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative projects.
Today I am sharing with two cards. The first is a clear card. This unique card uses the opening in the original cardbase and gives us a chance to use a different inside image. The second card comes together quickly with the die cuts from the kit.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

Card #1

1- Begin by Cutting the Pink & Yellow Cardbases in half at 4 ¼”. Rotate and cut the rainbow piece in half at 2 ¾”. Save the front of the Pink Cardbase & the back of the Yellow Cardbase for future alternative cards.

2- On the Clear Cardbase, attach the white 3” x 4 ½” piece to the back. This will be where you write your message.

3- Remove the Hill Die Cut piece from the kit, flip it over and use the frame to trace the same shape in the center of the Hill. Cut along the line. This will give you two pieces that are about the same size. Use the one with the flat bottom for this card. Add it to the bottom of the Rainbow piece with the color in the middle of the paper. Trim off the excess – Save all leftover pieces.

4- Stamp the sun in Mango Melody in the top right corner above the Rainbow. Stamp a greeting in Memento Black ink above the hill on the right side. Add this to the center of the inside of the cardbase.

5- Place one cloud underneath the Sun and separate the three flowers from the right of the Small Grouping of Die Cut Flowers. Add these to the left of the greeting above the hill piece.

6- Add the Yellow Frame to the front of the Clear Cardbase. Add the Frog to the bottom left corner and another Cloud near the first with dimensionals.

7- Stamp the Kite image inside the Die Cut in Flirty Flamingo Ink. Add this with a dimensional to the right side of the cardbase. Stamp your greeting on one of the labels from the kit in Memento Black ink and add it over the inside greeting with dimensionals.

All Done!

Card #2

1- Layer the Flirty Flamingo 3” x 4 ½” piece underneath the second Rainbow piece.

2- Wrap 22” of Linen Thread around the bottom and tie a bow on the right side. Add this to the center of the Petal Pink Cardbase with dimensionals.

3- Stamp your greeting on a label from the kit in Memento Black ink. Add it above the Linen Thread with dimensionals.

4- Stamp the Sun on scratch Basic White Cardstock and fussy cut out. Add above the greeting on the left side.

5- From the Larger Flower Die Cuts remove three from the right. Add them above the greeting on the right with dimensionals.

6- Add three or more of the Flirty Flamingo Enamel Dots from the kit.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step:
