Stampin' Up! May 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card Ideas - Fun Ways to Add Another Stamp Set

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my first alternative idea using the May 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Celebrating In Color.

This kit comes with everything you need to make 10 Handmade Cards, 2 in five different design that all coordinate with the new 2022-2024 In Colors from Stampin’ Up!. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative cards. Today I am sharing two cards which incorporate both the stamp set from the kit and a floral set (Happiness Abounds). I love creating alternative projects with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more as I continue to create with this month’s kit.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com

Card #1 – Tahitian Tide

1- Find a stamp set you like and create a pattern on the banner in Basic Gray ink. If there are different size stamps. I like to start with the larger images first, then add the smaller images.

2- Add to the cardbase in the banner section.

3- Stamp the greeting “Just For” over the “You” on the circle label.

4- Add 13” of Gold Trim to the back in a faux bow to the back of the label. Add to the card with dimensionals.

5- Add three Tahitian Tide enamel dots.

All Done!

Card #2 – Sweet Sorbet

1- Cut out the center of the cardbase (about 3 ½” x 4 ¾”) with your Paper Trimmer. I measured the edges at 5/16”. Only cut in the center to create a hole.

2- Add the Basic Black piece over the hole. Add liquid glue to the very edge on the back of the Black Cardstock. It should line up with the thin gold border on the cardbase.

3- Fussy cut out the gold “You”. Do not separate the white piece. I started the fussy cut below the “U” so it will be hidden with other elements. You want to cut as close to the letters as you can. See video for visual instruction.

4- Remove the “You” from the Sweet Sorbet die cut. Cut the rectangle piece in half through the “ou” (see video). Adhere the top layered underneath the bottom to create a fun border.

5- Line up the hole from the gold “You” with the Sweet Sorbet border and adhere in place.

6- Add the Sweet Sorbet “You” in place to cover up the hole from the fussy cut. Trim the edges.

7- Add to the center of the cardbase. There should be a small black border around this piece.

8- Stamp flowers / leaves or other images on the Sweet Sorbet pattern from an envelope. Fussy cut them out.

9- Add these images to the upper right corner coming down the edge. You can use dimensionals to pop them up if you want.

10- Add the gold “You” over the Sweet Sorbet “You”.

11- Stamp a greeting on the small banner. I used “Can Do Anything” and add with dimensionals under the “You”

12- Add three Brushed Brass Butterflies.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step
