How to make alternative cards with the ENVELOPES from the AUGUST 2021 PAPER PUMPKIN KIT - Stampin Up

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. For the next couple days, I will share a new alternative idea using the August 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Hope Box. The set of three cards I am sharing with you today use the three different envelopes that come in the kit. By following the cutting instructions below, you can use them as background patterns for really cute handmade cards.

I love creating alternative cards with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more as I continue to create with this month’s kit. I would love to see your finished creations that are inspired by this tutorial! Cutting the Envelopes

Begin by removing a small amount from each side. Then open the Envelope and place the score line around the 7cm or 2 ¾” mark on your paper trimmer. Trim the top flap off, then rotate and measure to 5 ¼” and trim the bottom. Then remove the sides down to 4”. Finish piece should be 4” x 5 ¼”. Repeat for the other envelopes.

Card #1-

1- On the Yellow Flower Background, stamp “HOPE” in Poppy Parade to the left of the design above the score line. Then stamp “Where there is faith…” in Poppy Parade under the score line with about ½” space between the two greetings.

2- Wrap 18” of Crumb Cake Twine around the background and tie a bow. Adhere the bow on the score line to cover it.

3- Stamp “Where there is” & “there is faith” in Bumblebee Ink on the two small rectangle labels. Add the first above HOPE with dimensionals, and the second over the twine & bow with dimensionals as well.

4- Add this to the So Saffron Cardbase.

5- Add a small gradient butterfly die cut to the top left corner and three sequins around the greetings.

Card #2-

1- Use the flap from the Butterfly Background/Envelope and cut a 1” x 4” piece that includes part of the Melon Mambo “splash” of color. Add this over the score line on the Butterfly background piece, with the Melon Mambo part to the left.

2- Stamp the large & small butterflies in different ink colors (Bumblebee, Melon Mambo, & Bermuda Bay) along the left side of the background.

3- Stamp only “Just a note of” from the “Just a note of Hope” stamp by covering “Hope” with washi tape, inking the image, then removing the washi tape before stamping. Stamp it on the right side of the white butterflies on the background. Add the Large Hope Label under the greeting and over the Melon Mambo strip with dimensionals.

4- Stamp one Large & one Small Butterfly in Blackberry Bliss Ink on the leftover back cardbase piece (from yesterday’s alternatives) and fussy cut out. Add to the left of the Large Hope label. Also add a small Bermuda Bay & Bumblebee Die Cut Butterfly to the Butterfly area on the left of the background.

5- Add everything to the Mint Macron Cardbase. Remove 4-5 strands from 12” of the Blackberry Bliss Ribbon and tie into a bow. Create a double bow by placing it on a glue dot and wrapping the ends into a bow shape adhering to the glue dot. Add to the bottom left corner of the Hope label. Add three sequins around the card.

Card #3-

1- Cut from the extra back cardbase a 2 ¾” x 3” rectangle and stamp the large greeting in Blackberry Bliss ink. On the Large Tomorrow and Small Hope Labels from the other languages, stamp Hope & Tomorrow on the back in Melon Mambo ink. Adhere over the same words in the greeting.

2- Add the Pink & Purple Polka Dot Background to the front of the Fresh Freesia Cardbase. Cut a 4” piece of ribbon from the ribbon we have been using to remove the strings from, I like that it looks worn. Add this to the center of the card to cover the score line.

3- Place the greeting over the ribbon in the center of the card with dimensionals.

4- Add the Melon Mambo & Blackberry Bliss Butterfly Die Cuts and three sequins around the greeting.

All Done!
