How to Create Your Own Stamps - Flowers Of Friendship Bundle - 2021 Artisan Design Team Stampin' Up!

Hello My Crafting Friends,

Today I am sharing my first Stampin’ Up 2021 Artisan Design Team showcase project for May 2021.

For this card I wanted to focus on using the Flowers of Friendship Stamp Set. As I was stamping these images I wanted a quick and easy way to fill in the lined flowers and leaves with a solid color, so I made my own stamps using the leftover rubber. I walk you through this process in this tutorial. I also use some other new dies like the Tailor Made Tags & Basic Border Dies to add some interesting shapes and fun details to this card. I hope you enjoy this tutorial and that it inspires you to create something beautiful today.

How to Create Your Own Solid Stamps for the Inside of the Lined Images:

1- Use StazOn Ink and stamp a flower or leaf image on the leftover red rubber.

2- Use a pair of OLD Paper Snips and cut a bubble around the image. Then angle the scissors and remove the extra rubber from around the stamped image going right up to the outside edge.  Tip: Make short straight cuts.

Making the Label:

1- Remove the paper backing from the leftover label sheet. This will expose the sticky side that is attached to the stamp. Use StazOn Ink and stamp the same image on this exposed sticky label.

2- Bubble cut out the image and adhere it to the foam side of the stamp. I do this by removing the other paper backing and attach that side to a clear block. Then stamp the label onto the foam side of the stamp.

See Video Below.

Making the Card:

1- Stamp the large grouping of flowers three times in Evening Evergreen on Basic White Cardstock. Use the inside stamps you create to add color to the inside of the flowers and leaves. I did one in Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, & Pale Papaya. Leaves in Soft Succulent. Fussy cut out.

2- With the tiny flowers in a line, ink only one and stamp in it Balmy Blue ink on the single sheet of Balmy Blue Cardstock randomly from the top left corner to bottom right corner.

3- Add a splatter of color over the tiny flowers with a Water Painter and Balmy Blue ink. Let dry.

4- With the Tiny Scallop Basic Border Die cut the right edge of the Balmy Blue Sheet. Once cut remove any cardstock on the left side so the top and bottom edges are 2 ¾”.

5- Stamp the greeting in Evening Evergreen on Basic White Cardstock. Cut out with one of the Tailor Made Tag Dies. Place the die so the greeting is in the top half. Run through your Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine.

6- Then flip the die upside down and line it up so you have even spacing between the die and the greeting on the top and bottom. Use washi tape to hold in place. Place it on the cutting plates so the top plate only covers the decorative edge on the bottom. Run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

7- Cut two pieces of 8” of twine. Fold in half and string the loop through the bottom of the hole. Take the ends and go through the loop. Pull tight. Do the same for the other hole. Add the Tag to the Balmy Blue piece with dimensionals. Attach the ends to the back of the cardstock.

8- Attach the Evening Evergreen strip ¼” to the left of the Balmy Blue sheet. Then attach these pieces to the Vellum piece with about ¼” from the left and evenly spaced on top and bottom. Add this to the cardbase.

9-Add the three flowers in a curve around the greeting. Place dimensionals behind the flowers and glue on the leaves.

10- Cut 10” of twine and tie a bow around the top of the twine at the top of the greeting. Add three In Color Rhinestones.

All Done!
