A Beautiful & Simple Alternative Card Idea using October 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Joy To The World

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today is my third alternative project using the October 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Joy to the World. In this tutorial I show you another quick and simple card that uses one card base to create two cards. Plus, more fun ways to use the stamp set, die cuts and embossed cardstock from this kit. I think these cards maybe one of my favorites so far.

I love creating alternative cards with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more videos as I continue to create with this month’s kit. I would love to see your finished creations that are inspired by this tutorial! Here are the dimensions and pieces you will need to create these cards:

From the Kit:

1- Cardbase

1- Envelope Flap

1- Flower Die-Cut

1- White “square” embossed cardstock

1- Your choice of Gold Word

1- Small greeting label

Extra Cardstock:

Thick Whisper White Cardstock card base 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Here is a list of the supplies I used to make the cards:

Thick Whisper White Cardstock 140272 $8.25

VersaMark Ink Pad 102283 $9.50

Gold Embossing Powder 109129 $6.00

Heat Tool 129053 $30.00

3” Circle Die from Layering Circles Dies 151770 $35.00

Paper Trimmer 152392 $25.00

Simply Shammy 147042 $8.00

Stampin’ Seal Adhesive 152813 $8.00

Multipurpose Liquid Glue 110755 $4.00

Dimensionals 104430 $4.00

Clear Block D 118485 $8.50

Paper Snips 103579 $10.00

Bone Folder 102300 $7.00

Stampin' Pierce Mat 126199 $5.00

Take Your Pick Tool 144107 $10.00

Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine 149653 $120.00

1- Trim your cardbase into 2 card fronts (4 1/8” x 5 3/8”) Start by removing ½” from the top of the cardbase. Then trim in half at 4 1/8”. Then cut each piece vertically at 2 ½” so you have a large piece that is 2 ½” x 5 3/8”” and a small piece 1 5/8” x 5 3/8”.

Remove the flap from one of the envelopes. Trim off the white areas so you have two pieces strips that are ½” x 4 ¼”.

2- On the plain Crumb Cake pieces randomly stamp “the cluster of three berries” in VersaMark ink. Add gold embossing powder then heat until shiny.

3- Add one of the large Crumb Cake pieces to the left side of your cardbase, either the gold stripe or berry pattern. Then add the smaller piece to the right side. There should be about 1/16” border around the edge of the card.

4- Cut a 3” circle shape from the White embossed cardstock (I used the Layering Circle Dies). Add this to the middle of the card on the right. Add the ½” envelope patter over the bottom of the circle with a little of the circle showing.

5- Adhere the flower die-cut with adhesive under the flowers and dimensionals under the leaves. Add this over the left side of the circle at a slight angle following the curve of the circle.

6- Stamp one of the greetings on the small label in Just Jade ink. I wanted it to be smaller so I trimmed the edge right along the stitching. Add this slightly over the top of the Cherry Cobbler piece to the right of the flower. Then adhere your gold foil word above at a slight angle. Tie a bow with 8” of Cherry Cobbler Twine from the kit.

All Done!
