April 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit My Wonderful Family Alternative Projects - How I turned 1 card into 2!

I am so excited to share with you today my first Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card using the April 2020 Kit “My Wonderful Family”. This kit has some fun elements and a great stamp set you can use anytime when making cards for those you love. It comes with everything you need to create 8 full size cards 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” of two designs. I have used the elements from one card to create 2 different cards with just a couple extra pieces of cardstock from my stash. I love creating alternative cards with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more videos as I continue to create with this month’s kit.

It is Paper Pumpkin Week here on CreativeChelsey. This is the first tutorial this week. Make sure to keep coming back for more.

Card #1
1- Begin by trimming the original cardbase. Remove the printed leaf pattern flap at 3 15/16” and the Shaded Spruce strip at 1 ½”. Trim the leftover white piece to 4” x 5 ¼”. Save the leaf pattern and large white piece for card #2.
2- Stamp the greeting “Family – Where life begins and love never ends” in Early Espresso on the white side of the Soft Sea Foam label.
3- Stamp the leaf image in Pear Pizzazz on the 4” x 4” whisper white cardstock. Use the stamp to create a large circle of leaves. Start on one side of the cardstock with the straighter side of the stamp in the center, stamp. Then reink and rotate the stamp so the straight side meets up with the first stamped image, stamp. Then fussy cut.
4- To put the card together – fold and score the cardbase in half along the score line. Add the Shaded Spruce strip to the bottom of the card.
5- Add the tree trunk die cut to the stamped leaves with glue dots. Add the tree to the center of the cardbase. Use the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend Marker to add some little dots in the foliage of the tree.
6- Add the Crushed Curry strip over the top of the Shaded Spruce strip. Tie a large bow and adhere it to the back of the greeting. Add the greeting over the Crushed Curry strip with dimensionals.
7- Add the two birds in the tree with dimensionals (you may need to cut the dimensionals in half). Add 3 Crushed Curry pearls around the greeting.

All Done!
Card #2
1- Trim the printed leaf patter paper down to 3” x 3 ½” (take about 3/8" from the top and bottom). Stamp the greeting “I’m glad You are my family” in Early Espresso ink in the center.
2- Stamp the leaf image in Soft Sea Foam ink along the edge of the large white piece. Don’t worry about any overlap in the center. Watch the below video detailed instructions. Add this piece to the front of the Soft Sea Foam cardbase.
3- Using the Everyday Label punch, punch the short edge of the large Crushed Curry strip. Do this by sliding the paper through the bottom of the punch so only the edge will be punched.
4- Add the stamped greeting to the Crushed Curry strip. Then add this element to the center of the card with dimensionals.
5- Tie a bow with the 8” of Linen Thread an add it to the top of the paper with a glue dot. Add a butterfly die cut with a glue dot in the center so the wings can be folded up.

All Done!
