Layering Balloons & Easy Loop Bow - Alternative Card with August 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Stampin Up

Hi Everyone and welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Over the past couple days I have been sharing some alternative ideas you can make with one set of supplies from the August 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Time For Cake.

The projects from this kit are so fun and perfect to celebrate any birthday, from young to old. The fun Balloon and Candle images have beautiful Rose Gold Foil details and go perfect with the rich colors. This month we received 2 stamp sets in the kit which complement each other perfectly. The kit creates a total of 9 greeting cards 3 in three different designs. If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and create these cards click on the playlist below.

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog – www.creativechelsey.com

This card does take a lot of fussy cutting, but the end result is so cute & worth all the time. I love how all the balloons are popped up it gives so much dimension to this cute birthday card.

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 4 ¼” x 11” scored at 5 ½”

Front Cake Cardbase – kit

Leftover Frame from Angled Rectangle Pieces – kit

Pretty In Pink Strip – kit

Rose Gold Fork – kit

3 Colorful Angled Rectangle Strips – kit

1- Trim the Front of the Cake Cardbase down to 4” x 5 ¼”. To keep the cake in the center just trim 1/8” from both the left and right sides. Then trim ¼” from the top edge.

2- To create the openings for the shaker elements. Line up the leftover frame from the Angled Rectangle Pieces. Three openings should be centered vertically in the cake, the left edge should line up with the left edge of the cake. Use a pencil to outline the three openings.

3- Cut out each opening. You can use an Xacto Knife or Paper Trimmer to remove each. You can watch how I do it in the YouTube video below.

4- Trim off the open edge from one Clear Envelope at 3 ¾”. Fill the envelope with your choice of Shaking Elements. Add a piece of Tear & Tape over the open edge and fold over to seal the embellishments inside the envelope. If you need to adjust the height of the envelope you can add a strip of tear and tape and fold over to make it smaller.

5- Add the Shaker Envelope to the back of the Cake Piece.

6- Add the Three Colorful Strips to the back of the Shaker Envelope with any type of tape. Make sure they cover the openings you created on the front of the cake. Once they are in place add everything to the center of the White Cardbase with dimensionals.

7- Add the Rose Gold Fork with dimensionals on the right side of the plate. Stamp “It’s time for cake” in Night of Navy in the Pretty In Pink Strip. Add it to the left of the Fork with dimensionals.

8- Stamp your choice of Number in Night of Navy ink on some scratch paper, I used the leftover back piece of an envelope. Fussy cut out and add above the Fork & Greeting with dimensionals.

9- Add some of the Shaker Elements around the card.

All Done!
