December 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit Alternative Project #1 Fun Fold Handmade Cards

Today I have some alternative Handmade Cards made with Stampin Up’s December’s Paper Pumpkin Kit Something for Everything. Because the original project includes full-size cards, I wanted to do something special and decided to turn them into fun fold cards. These cards have a band that keep them closed and then once that is removed the card opens in a fun way. I love creating alternative cards with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more videos as I continue to create with this month’s kit.

Card #1
1- Start with a long card base 11” x 4 1/4” Score at 2” and 7 1/2” and fold the card – use a bone folder to make the creases nice and crisp.
2- Cut the floral card from the kit. Cut it in half at 4 1/4” so you have one piece in flowers and one solid piece in Terracotta Tile.
3- Cut each piece into 2 sections 4” x 3 1/4” and 4” x 1 3/4”
4- Score the 1 1/4” x 11” strip of Crushed Curry at 3 3/8” and 7 3/4”
5- Add the large floral piece to the large section on the card base and the small Terracotta Tile piece to the small section. Leave a small white border around each piece.
6- Wrap the band around the card and adhere the ends together in the front of the card with the seam on the right.
7- Remove the band before adding the other elements. From the kit use the large green circle and place it over the seam on the right side.
8- Use the gold floral element with the berries. Cut it in half and place one on the left of the circle on the band and the other on the card base on the right so it is peaking out from behind the band when everything is put together.
9- Because we are using stickers they can stick to the card making it hard to remove the band so add some chalk from the embossing buddy to the sticky areas that are exposed. Rub the chalk with your finger into the adhesive. You can wipe the chalk off with a towel.
10- Add some adhesive in a strip in the center of the circle and wrap in a spiral 16” of white bakers twine in the center of the circle.
11- Stamp any greeting from the stamp set with the Terracotta Tile ink spot on one of the labels. Add to the center of the green circle with dimensionals.
12- Slide the band on the card so it keeps the flaps closed.
13- All done!

Card #2
1- Start with a long card base 11” x 4 1/4” Score at 2” and 7 1/2” and fold the card – use a bone folder to make the creases nice and crisp.
2- Score the 1” x 11” strip of Crushed Curry at 2” and 7 5/8”
3- Add the large Terracotta Tile piece to the large section on the card base and the small floral piece to the small section. Leave a small white border around each piece.
4- Use a big shot and the Stitched Nested Label Die #6 (cuts a 3 3/4” x 2” label) from the Shaded Spruce cardstock

5-Wrap the band around the card with the 2” side on the right and adhere the ends together with the Shaded Spruce label. You can remove the band if it makes it easier.
6- Remove the band before adding the other elements. From the kit place 2 leaves on the right and 2 on the left of the label.
7- On the gold sticker sheet there is some extra space where you can punch any flower punch. Try to get 3. Add them around the label.
8- Add 3 Grapefruit Grove sticker flowers from the kit and add them to the label.
9- Because we are using stickers they can stick to the card making it hard to remove the band so add some chalk from the embossing buddy to the sticky areas that are exposed. Rub the chalk with your finger into the adhesive. You can wipe the chalk off with a towel.
10- Add some adhesive in a strip in the center of the label and wrap in a spiral 16” of white bakers twine in the center of the label.
11- Stamp any greeting from the stamp set with the Terracotta Tile ink spot on one of the labels. Add to the center of the label with dimensionals.
12- Slide the band on the card so it keeps the flaps closed.

13- All done!
