July 2019 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card - Stamp Set only - Medallion Stamp and Masking Technique

Welcome to my blog!
I am so happy you are here!

Today I would like to share with you a great gender neutral card using only the medallion stamp and a greeting from the Stampin' Up July 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit. I a use the technique I call "stamp off then stamp on" or sometimes referred to as 2nd generation stamping. Then I get super crazy and try a masking technique to fill in the unique shape created by the negative space.

All my current Paper Pumpkin Subscribers will be receiving  the cardstock and accessories to make this card as a thank you... because I love them!

I hope you enjoy this tutorial! I would love to hear your thoughts so comment below.

Here are the measurements for the cardstock needed to make this card:
1 - Pear Pizzazz Cardstock card bases 5.5" x 8.5" scored at 4.25"
1 - Whisper White Cardstock 4.25" x 5.5" (trimmed after stamping to 3.75" x 5") / 0.5" x 3.5" strip
1 - Pretty Peacock Cardstock 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"  /   0.75" x 3.75" strip

Here is a list of the supplies I used to make the card:
Whisper White Cardstock 100730 $9.75
Pretty Peacock Cardstock 150880 $8.75
Pear Pizzazz Cardstock 131201 $8.75
Pretty Peacock Ink Pad 150083 $7.50
Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad 147104 $7.50
Silver Metallic Thread 138402 $3.50
Rhinestone Basic Jewels 144220 $5.00
Simply Shammy 147042 $8.00
Snail Adhesive 104332 $7.00
Dimensionals 104430 $4.00
Clear Block D 118485 $8.50
Paper Snips 103579 $10.00
Bone Folder 102300 $7.00

1- On the 4.25" x 5.5" white cardstock stamp the medallion stamp in Pear Pizzazz in the upper left corner.
2- Then without re-inking it stamp it again directly below. This will give you a lighter image. This technique is called 2nd generation stamping or stamp off / stamp on.

3- Continue this pattern over the whole piece of cardstock.
4- On a post-it note stamp 4 medallions so they create the same negative shape as on your cardstock. Cut out this shape created by the images. Then tape the slit you made to get to the center.
5- Place the post it note so the hole you cut is over one of the similar shapes on your cardstock.

6- Ink your medallion stamp with Pretty Peacock and stamp off, then on your cardstock. This will give you a lighter blue.
7- Repeat all over in all the empty spaces. Even along the edges.

8- Finished piece should look similar to this.
9- Now trim down the cardstock evenly on all sides so the finished piece will be 3.75" x 5"
10- Layer the Pretty Peacock cardstock behind and then place both on top of the Pear Pizzazz card base.

11- Stamp the strip of white cardstock with your greeting and adhere this to the Pretty Peacock strip.
12- If you want, color your rhinestones with a Stampin' Blends Marker. This adds a touch of color.
13- Wrap some silver metallic thread behind the greeting and adhere it to the center of your card with some dimensionals. Then place your rhinestones around the greeting.

All done!
