From SIMPLE to WOW! One Card - Two Alternative Versions - May 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Stampin' Up!

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Today I continue sharing beautiful Alternate Card Ideas you can make with supplies from the May 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Mountain Majesties.

The cards in this kit have beautiful mountain scenes. The kit makes a total of 9 cards 3 of three different designs with coordinating envelopes.

For my second set of alternatives I am showing how you can make a simple or stepped-up handmade card with one of the cardbase from the kit. I love both of them. I love simple cards and my WOW card has a lot of techniques I am excited to share with you.

If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and make the original cards visit this playlist -  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40dV1oxpkNn5ahdYBdt92pbTIg2OGPFb

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog – www.creativechelsey.com

I also want to mention the amazing perks you can receive when you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me as your demonstrator. With every Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set & Ink Spot sent, I design a card and mail out my very own card kit to my subscribers so they can make two of my exclusive card design. These cards so fun and show new ways to use stamps & ink. We also meet once each month to make the card together, chat & have fun.

*PLUS I have joined with other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators to design 7-10 more alternative ideas in a PDF Tutorial (includes photos & instructions). My subscribers receive this PDF Tutorial along with an Exclusively Designed Card Kit, all for FREE! If you would also like to receive this extra perk, sign up for paper pumpkin using the link below and make sure to select me as your demonstrator.

Simple Card

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Lost Lagoon Cardstock – scrap for strip

Basic White Cardstock – scrap for greeting

Blue Mountain Cardbase – Kit

1- Cut the back side of the cardbase from the kit at 4-1/8” x 5-3/8”. Stamp both bird images in Misty Moonlight in the sky. Add to the front of the Thick Basic White Cardbase.

2- Cut a small strip of Lost Lagoon Cardstock and flag the ends. I used the Banner Die from the Happy Little Things Dies (retired). Add to the center of the cardbase where the water meets the tree line.

3- Stamp any greeting in Misty Moonlight ink on a strip of Basic White Cardstock, trim down to fit and add over the Lost Lagoon strip with dimensionals. I used “THANKS” from the September 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit “Autumn Abundance” and cut it down to ½” x 1-7/8”.

4- Add 3-5 Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

All Done!

WOW Card

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Lost Lagoon Cardstock – scrap for strip

Basic White Cardstock – scrap for greeting

Blue Mountain Cardbase – Kit

Large Blue Vellum Piece – Kit

Blue Envelope – Kit

White Baker’s Twine – 16”

1- Cut the front of the Cardbase to 4-1/8” x 5-3/8” and stamp both Bird Stamps in the Sky with Misty Moonlight ink.

2- From the Large Blue Vellum Piece cut 2 ½” from the bottom. Then trim it down to 3 ¾”. Save the top piece for another project.

3- Lay the Blue Vellum Rectangle in the center of the Mountain Cardbase. Mark where the blue vellum meets the dark trees in the pattern. You will want to use a Hobby Blade to cut around the areas of the trees that are being covered by the vellum so you can tuck the vellum behind them. Make sure to use a sharp hobby blade and protect your surface with a self-healing mat.

4- Once you have cut around the trees make sure the Blue Vellum piece slides in and out easily. Adhere only the Mountain Cardbase to the front of the White Cardbase with adhesive along the edges (make sure no adhesive is behind the trees.

5- Trim off the Flap from the Blue Envelope and cut out the Die Cut Label from the Hugs Abloom Set (coordinating die set). Add it about ¾” from the top of the Blue Vellum Rectangle.

6- Cut a small strip of Lost Lagoon Cardstock and flag the ends. I used the Banner Die from the Happy Little Things Dies (retired). Add to the center of the label.

7- Stamp your greeting in Misty Moonlight or Memento Black and cut out with a 1 ½” circle punch of die cut. Add to the center of the label with a dimensional.

8- Wrap 16” of White Baker’s Twine below the label and tie a bow.

9- Slide the Blue Vellum Piece under the trees and adhere with adhesive behind the label.

10- Add 3-5 Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step.
