February Club Projects

Club was last night. I really love the colors in the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-bration Catalog pg.11) They are Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, Sahara Sand, & Summer Starfruit. I think putting this paper on the Basic Black cardstock really brings out the colors. I love the Chalkboard Technique and it is still strong in the crafting world so I showed how to create that look with our Whisper White Craft Ink Pad (pg.165) and Embossing Buddy (pg.167).
I left the pages without any title so my customers can customize it to what they need. I suggested they stamp with a fun alphabet in white to keep with the Chalkboard feeling.

Here is the 2 page layout with close ups so you can see the cute details.

I love this cute little bow. I used the long fibers from the 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon (Occasions pg.37). I used a piece 12" long and cut it along the edge to release the fibers and pulled out 3-4, then I tied them all together in a bow. I love the extra texture they it gives.

Here is the card we made. I really love the chevron technique I used as a background element. It is really simple. Punch 6 chevrons from the Chevron Border Punch (Occasions Catalog pg.28). Place 3 in the top row and have them point to the right, then place the last 3 directly below in a second row pointing in the opposite direction (to the left) and line up the top of the chevrons with the bottoms of the chevrons in the top row.
I also love the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack (SAB Catalog pg.12). The Twine is awesome!

Everyone loved the projects. If you want to come make these with me. I currently have openings and would love for you to join us. Club is free to members who place an order of $15 or more. Come try it out. Contact me with a reply or through Facebook .

Sew fun

I like to sew, but don't always want to and so my pile of things to sew tends to get bigger and bigger and takes over the chair in our bedroom. Well this past weekend it was time to tackle the pile. I thought you might like to see a couple of the things I did. I am not showing you everything...a lot of things were boring like fixing a button, turning a dress I don't wear anymore into a skirt that I will wear, or fixing small holes in seams.

Pillows for our bed.
Recently we purchased a new duvet cover for our bed and I have been wanting throw pillows for sometime, however the colors are a little challenging and I don't really like spending $30 on one pillow!
I came into a little extra money in December with it being my birthday and Christmas and decided I was going to buy some pillows. I found the gray one for only $19, but I could not find anything with the bright yellow I was looking for, right as I was giving up I turned down the clearance isle and out of the corner of my eye, I saw this curtain panel and only $17, score! I was able to use the cute pom-pom trim at the top to add texture, and I easily made 2 pillows from one panel.

Maverick's Jeans.
A couple months ago Maverick started getting holes in my favorite pair of his jeans, such a sad day! I have been letting him continue to wear them, but the hole has been getting larger, finally I needed to do something or I was sure he was going to get bored one day and rip them just for fun. I found a couple really good tutorials online and bought some plaid fabric and did my best. He thinks they are pretty cool and luckily they still look pretty good on him...just probably not family picture material anymore. What do you think?

Even though I didn't touch any paper, stamps, or ink this past weekend I still felt creative and definitely accomplished.

December's Paper Pumpkin

Yes I did just do the December Paper Pumpkin kit.
I am so happy I didn't put it off any longer. I love this cute "REAL LIFE" Journal and the stamp set it came with.

Of course I couldn't just stop with the journal so I made some cute little 3" x 3" cards with the stamps.

I love this one. I am going to give it to my husband as a thank you after a date night. With 2 little kiddos running around, we don't get to go on too many of those.

This one was my husbands favorite. It was quite funny, I usually show him my "creations" after I am done crafting. He "thoughtfully" looks at them and then hands them back with a "cute". Normally I am satisfied and return to my craft room. But this time I asked him which one was his favorite, he turned and looked at me with the "deer in the headlights" look and slowly took them back. I was thinking it wouldn't take long for him to tell me, since he had already passed his judgement, but I was wrong. I guess "cute" really means "I have no idea what I am looking at, but I know what you want me to say". Love him!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to you and your loved ones! We have been creating valentines all week long for our friends and family.

Here is Maverick making valentines for his preschool class. He really wanted to use this stamp set, but as you can see he really didn't want to color them. Got to love 3 year olds. Plus, he never wants to look at the camera. He also picked out fruity tootsie rolls from the dollar store as the treat. We put one of each color in a small cellophane bag and tied with some red baker's twine. So cute!

I like to make cards for my kiddos for Valentine's Day. I haven't had a ton of time to do something really fun (we have some extra children running around for a couple days this week) and I didn't want something with too many hearts. I love the new STARBURST SAYINGS stamp set & framelit dies and saw some potential with the oh, Happy Day stamp. Here is what I came up with.

Here is my "little boy" version. I think a little pink is okay. What do you think?

Hope you have a special & creative day!

I want more

So I promised more samples from Christina's workshop. Well here they are.
The samples I made using the BIRTHDAY BASH bundle as my inspiration.

I just love the Word Bubbles Framelits Dies and the Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set sayings fit perfectly in them. You may also notice that I used the 2012-2014 In Color Markers.
Here are the close ups.

I love the simple way of tying the above bow- so easy. The baker's twine is keeping it together, just tie the baker's twine around the overlapping portions of the ribbon.
Here is the inside of one of the cards...can you guess which one :)

I always like giving a special gift to my friends who have workshops. I had some pieces leftover from the Heartfelt Banner Kit (pg 16 SAB) and wanted to try cutting the felt balls in half. It was pretty easy to do with an xacto knife. I was a little curious what would be inside, I should've taken a picture for you, but it was a combination of styrofoam and felt and it adhered nicely with some liquid adhesive.

She loved them!

Christina's Workshop

So my fabulous friend Christina had a workshop last Saturday. We had so much fun getting together with her friends, family, & co-workers and creating beautiful tags & cards. Christina is crafty! I have done a couple workshops for her in the past, she likes to take advantage of the Sale-a-bration benifits so we always plan to have it in February. Each time she has come up with a project to share with her friends. This time she showed us a watercolor technique with a cute little ladybug on a beautiful tag. She posted pictures on her own blog at
go check it out...after you read this of course :)

I wanted to keep the project I brought simple and customizable. So I used the products from one of the featured bundles BIRTHDAY BASH pg.5 in the sale-a-bration brouchure. I love how simple these cards are and how anybody will feel "crafty" when creating them. I showed everyone the cute samples from the catalog and how to make them, plus a new idea, and then let them create. I love what they all came up with and their smiling faces :)

Going to post my samples and some other fun things I showed at the workshop later.

Have a creative day!

Love Notes - January's Paper Pumpkin

Here are the projects from the January Paper Pumpkin kit. Adorable...right!
Here is the awesome stamp set!
So who is with me?
Doesn't it seem that each month Paper Pumpkin is getting better and better? Well I know a little is going to get so much better!!! I am so excited for the upcoming kits and believe me you don't want to miss out! At Leadership in Houston they showed us a sneak peak of the next 2 kits and Oh My Goodness they are amazing. They have totally ramped up the number of things we are going to be able to make, for example instead of 4 cards....there will be 8! and not just cards...(well I can't tell you, but you will love it). I am really hoping that my excitement is coming through, because I am screaming inside right now!! If you, for whatever reason, have not signed up DO IT NOW. Here is the link

Here is a fun card I made with these awesome stamps.
I have totally fallen in love with GOLD! I love the gold sequin trim & the gold bakers twine so much. I wanted to have this be my focus for my card.
I used crushed curry & smoky slate ink colors on a notecard base and randomly stamped the arrow across the card front.
I wanted some bling on my word bubble so I used a quick method and stamped it in some two-way glue (just sponge it on or use your finger :) ) then I poured gold stampin' glitter on top.
I also used the banner framelit to cut out this perfect banner and stamped the Love on it.
It is all tied up with gold bakers twine with some gold sequin trim hanging loosely from the knot.

Hope you have enjoyed a little taste of inspiration.
Have a creative day!
