How to add Depth and Dimension to Big Shot Dies | New Product Spotlight Tropical Oasis Product Suite

Today I would like to share with you a technique that can really change your die cuts from boring to beautiful. I have used the alcohol Stampin’ Blend Markers to add dimension and color to basic die cut images. I use the large pineapple die cut from the In the Tropics Dies as the main image for this card. I hope you enjoy this tutorial.

How To Create an Infinity Card | Amazing Handmade Card Design | Peaceful Poppies Suite- Stampin Up

I am so excited to share with you today a really fun card called an Infinity Fold Card. This card has 4 different “pages” that you flip through. Each page opens to the next page and continues over and over. I have designed each page to stand alone and to work together. On the last page I have created a space for writing. I hope you enjoy this card tutorial and give this unique card a try! Please let me know if you run into any problems. I am always happy to help.

Before beginning on your card I would recommend you make a template. I used copy paper for my template. I then wrote on the template the different measurements for score lines and cut lines. Follow steps 1-17 below to make your template.

Scoring and Cutting the Designer Series Paper
1- Cut 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper to 4.25” x 5.5”. Make sure that the colors coordinate with each other. I used DSP for these cards because they are already decorated on both sides with different colors and patterns & it keeps the card thinner than if I used cardstock.
2- Grab your Paper Trimmer that has both a cutting blade and scoring blade. On the front piece of DSP SCORE from the top and bottom at 1 3/8”. Don’t push so hard you accidently cut your paper!
3- Use a bone folder and fold on both score lines. Open and flip the paper and fold the opposite way. When folded the two ends should meet in the center of the paper.
4- Next CUT down the middle of the front piece at 2 1/8”
5- For the back piece of DSP SCORE from the left and right sides at 1 1/16”. Don’t push so hard you accidently cut your paper!
6- Use a bone folder and fold on both score lines. Open and flip the paper and fold the opposite way. When folded the two ends should meet in the middle of the paper.
7- Next CUT through the center of the second piece at 2 3/4”
Putting everything together
8- Start with the back pieces of DSP. Line them up so the patterns match. Then take the top piece and move it below the bottom piece. Do not flip or rotate the paper at all, just move it like it is sliding below. This will ensure the pattern meets together when we flip to that page.
9- Now grab both pieces and flip them over so the pattern you want as the last page is now face down on your table. I want the large flowers to be the last page and so the purple side is up.
10- Lay the front pieces of DSP on top of the back pieces. If there is a pattern make sure it matches. Make sure your first page pattern is on top.
11- Fold down the left top piece and apply glue to the outside edge on the back of the front piece. Do not cross any score lines!!

Tip: I like using liquid glue because it lets me move things around and get it in the right place before it dries.
12- Glue the two top left pieces together. Make sure everything lines up perfectly with not overhang on the front or the back.
13- Lay the pieces back down and glue the bottom left corner the same way. Flip the front piece up and apply glue to the outside edge. Do not cross any score lines! Glue the top and bottom pieces together with no overhang.
14- Repeat for the right side top and bottom.
15- Test your folds. Open to each page and use your bone folder to crease the folds.

Yay! It works.
16- You can add a little more glue to reinforce your card. Open to page 2. Where the two colors meet at the top/bottom lift up the left/right edge and add a little glue. Do not cross any score lines!!

Repeat for all 4 areas.

Embellishing your card
17- Begin by stamping in black ink the small group of poppies stamp on Whisper White cardstock.
18- With the small splatter stamp and the Poppy Parade ink randomly stamp the color over the flowers.
19- Do the same with the Blackberry Bliss ink
20- Use an aqua painter and add Old Olive ink along the base in the stem area
21- Clean the brush and then add water to the flowers to move the color around. You don’t need to add any color from the ink pad, some color should pick up from the stamped areas.
Do one color at a time and clean your brush before going to the next color so it doesn’t get too muddled.
22- Stamp in Black ink 2 large poppies, 2 small poppies, and 4 leaves.

23- Use the large wash image from the stamp set and add Old Olive to the leaves. Clean the stamp.
24- Use Blackberry Bliss for the smaller poppies. Clean stamp
25- Use Poppy Parade for the lager poppies. Clean stamp
26- Use an aqua painter and move the color all over the image. This will brighten up the colors and really make them pop. Make sure to clean the brush between colors. You can see in the image the stamped color is so much darker than the water-colored area.
27- On the Basic Black cardstock stamp with VersaMark the greetings for the card. I used the “happiness” and “happy birthday” stamps. Before stamping use a dryer sheet to remove any static from the paper. Heat with a heat tool.
You can use a fine tip brush to remove any powder that is sticking to areas you don’t want.
28- Fussy cut around the greetings. I separated the “happiness” stamp into 3 different groupings so I could use one for each page of my card. “Wishing you every” “happiness” “this special day will bring”
29- Fussy cut around the small group of poppies. This can be a little looser of a cut than the words.
30- Trim the poppies at the bottom so it is straight and then cut into 2 1/8” sections (2).
31- Use the dies to cut out the large and small poppy and the leaf images. Cut from some Basic Black cardstock the circle scallop die and the straight scallop die twice.
32- For page 1- Glue the straight scallops to the first page of the card. You can place images any where you want. The only rule is to not glue anything to the scored fold lines and you need to cut any elements that go across a cut line. Then add the “wishing you every” sentiment. Trim any elements that are coming off the page
33- For page 2- Glue the small group of poppies to the middle area so one is above and one below the middle cut line. Add the word “happiness” above the cut line so nothing is going over the middle cut line.
34- For page 3- Glue the flowers to the center area only don’t cross any fold lines. Glue the leaves under the flowers. I did have one cross the center cut line and so I cut it and glued it to both sides so they meet. Then cut the greeting after “special” and glue so they meeting in the middle.
35- For page 4- Add 2 whisper white cardstock pieces (2 1/16” x 2.75”) to the center of the score lines. Then add the scallop circle to the top and glue the “happy birthday” on top of the circle. Remember to not glue anything over the scored fold lines.

All done!
