Two Ideas To Get More From Your May 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Stampin' Up! - Alternative Card Ideas

Hi Everyone and welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Over the next couple days, I am going to share with you 8 card ideas you can make with one set of supplies from the May 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called The Best There Is.

The projects from this kit are so fun with wood textures, bold colors, and beautiful nature images. They are perfect for father’s day or anyone who loves being outdoors. The kit creates a total of 9 greeting cards 3 in three different designs. If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and create these cards click on the playlist below.

Today I am sharing with you my first set of alternative cards. These two cards use the multi-color chevron pattern in two different ways.

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store.

Card #1

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Crumb Cake Cardbase (kit) – 4” x 5 ¼” | 1” x 2 1/8”

Multicolor Planks (kit) – 2 ½” x 3 ¾”

Hexagon Label (kit)

Linen Thread – 16”

1- Cut the Crumb Cake Cardbase in half and then trim one side to 4” x 5 ¼”. Cut the Multicolor Planks piece in half to 2 ½” x 3 ¾”.

2- Lay the Multicolor piece in the center of the Crumb Cake piece and stamp the small group of dots (Cloud) in Crumb Cake ink in the top left & bottom right corners to create photo corners. Add the Crumb Cake piece to the center of the cardbase. Add the Multicolor piece to the center with dimensionals.

3- Stamp Trees in Misty Moonlight on the Hexagon Label. Cut the bottom at ½” (the tip should be at ½”)

4- Stamp greeting in Early Espresso on 1” x 2 1/8” Crumb Cake Cardbase piece. Adhere the top and bottom of the Hexagon Label to the back of the greeting to create the illusion of a longer label.

5- Create a faux bow with 16” to the back of the label. Add to the center of the card with dimensionals.

Card #2

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Basic White Cardstock – scrap for greeting

Misty Moonlight Cardbase – 2 ¼” x 5”

Multicolor Planks (kit) – 2 ½” x 3 ¾”

Circle with Trees Die Cut (kit)

Linen Thread – 12”

1- Cut the Misty Moonlight Cardbase at 2 ¼” then trim the length to 5”.

2- Use a pair of Paper Snips to separate the left planks from the right along the zig-zag (Mulitcolor Planks piece).

3- Rotate one side to match the other to create a chevron shape. One side might be larger than the other, this is okay. Tape them together on the back.

4- Trim the straight edge to be even.

5- Adhere the Multicolor piece to the left of the Misty Moonlight piece so together they are 3 ¾” wide. Add this to the center of the Basic White Cardstock with dimensionals.

6- Add the Circle with Trees Die Cut with dimensionals to hide any size discrepancy.

7- Stamp your greeting in Early Espresso ink on Basic White Cardstock. Use the Hexagon Die from Thanks & Beyond Dies and place it so the greeting sits at the bottom of the die. Run through Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

9- Rotate the Die and line up the long edge along the top of the greeting, with the greeting inside the die. Run through.

10- Add the greeting in the bottom left corner of the Circle Die Cut with a dimensional on the left.

11- Tie a bow with 12” of Linen Thread and place in the top right corner of the greeting.

I have also created a video walking you through each step.
