Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my second alternative ideas using the June 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Welcome Inn.
This beautiful kit creates 9 simple handmade cards with beautiful patterns and color combinations. There are enough supplies to make three of each card. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative projects. Today I am sharing with you two card ideas that use one cardbase from the kit. By cutting the cardbase into sections we can create multiple cards from one. I love the monochromatic color scheme that both cards have.
If this project inspires you to create something, I would
love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey |

Card #1
1- Cut the White Pattern Cardbase from the kit in half at
4-1/4”. On one side cut down to 2 ¾” x 5 ½”. Add this piece about ¼” from the
left of one Night of Navy cardbase.
2- Find a greeting you like, I used “With Deepest Sympathy” from the April 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit – All The Little Things. Stamp it in Night of Navy ink in the top left area on the 1-1/8” leftover section from yesterday’s alternative project. (see step 5)
3- Add this piece to the center of the 2-15/16” x 1-7/16”
Balmy Blue piece. The left and right edges should line up. Adhere this centered
over the pattern strip on the cardbase, about 1 ¼” from the bottom.
4- On the back of the Night of Navy Vase created a double faux bow (see video below) with 16” of Bakers Twine. Adhere to the right of the greeting with a Dimensional Strip.
All Done!
Card #2
1- On the second 4 ¼” x 5 ½” White Pattern Cardbase
piece, trim off 1/8” from top & bottom making the measurements 4-1/8” x 5-3/8”.
Add this piece to the other Night of Navy Cardbase.
2- Cut down the Boho Blue Envelope (back piece) to 2 ¼” x
3 ½”.
3- Cut down the second half of the Night of Navy Cardbase
from the kit (see yesterday’s alternative – step 1) to 2-3/8” x 3-5/8”.
4- Layer the Boho Blue Envelope piece on top of the Night
of Navy piece. There will be a slight border. Add this to the center of the
cardbase with dimensionals.
5- Find a greeting you like, I used “I’m Grateful For…” from the April 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit – All The Little Things. Stamp in in Night of Navy ink on one side of the 1” Balmy Blue strip. Cut the width down to fit the greeting. To create the Faux Banner. Take the extra section and use the Banner Pick A Punch and cut the banner shape from both ends. Cut the banner ends off at about 1”. Then adhere them behind the greeting with dimensionals (see video below).
6- Stamp the Greenery image in Balmy Blue ink over the White Vase Die Cut. Add this to the center of the middle panel with dimensionals.
7- Stamp 3 Flowers in Night of Navy ink on Basic White Cardstock
and fussy cut out. Add them around the vase with glue dots or Dimensionals.
All Done!
I have also created a video walking you through each step:
