Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my first alternative idea using the October 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Ho Ho Ho.
This kit comes with everything you need to make 9 Christmas Cards, 3 in three different designs. This kit is so fun. I love the fun color combination, the cute die cuts & stamp images. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative projects. Today I am sharing how you can make a shaker card using the supplies in the kit with a couple extra products. I love creating alternative projects with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more as I continue to create with this month’s kit.
If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

1- Create Your Shaker Element:
Stamp the Santa & Reindeer in Early Espresso ink in the top area of the Starry Sky background
Next Stamp the three star stamp in Bermuda Bay ink randomly.
Cut 3 3/8” to trim off about ½” from the bottom.
Add glue dots to the back of the frame
Layer the Window Sheet to the back of the frame over the glue dots. It should be slightly smaller so you don’t see it from the front.
Then add Adhesive Foam Strips behind the frame. Make sure have the seam is tight so you don’t lose any of the shaker elements.
Add the shaker elements to the inside of the frame.
Remove the paper backing from the Adhesive Foam Strips and add the background piece. Make sure the front is facing down.
2- Cut down the Light Blue Cardbase to 3 ¾” x 5”
3- Open one of the striped envelopes and cut a piece that
is 7/8” x 3 ¼” so the stripes are verticle.
4- Add the Shaker Element to the Light Blue piece with
about ¼” of border on the left, top, & right sides.
5- Wrap 18” of Linen Thread at the bottom and tie a bow
on the right side.
6- Add the Stripe Strip at the bottom of the card with a
small gap between it and the Shaker Element. Use Foam Adhesive Strips so it is
the same height as the shaker element.
7- Add everything to the center of the cardbase
8- Add JOY with glue dots so the bottom of the letters
sit at the bottom of the shaker element.
9- Stamp your greeting in Bermuda Bay to the ½” from the
Light Blue Cardbase. Trim & add with glue dots to the left of the Stripe
piece with a little border at the top.
All Done!
I have also created a video walking you through each step
and some of the details from the other cards:
