Slimline Shaker Card - Alternative Idea For The July 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Stampin' Up!

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my second alternative ideas using the July 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Fun In The Sun.

This kit creates 9 Fun-Fold handmade cards with bright bold color combinations and summery images. There are enough supplies to make three of each card. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative projects. Today I am sharing with you a vertical slimline SHAKER card idea that use the cardbase from the kit. By removing the rectangle it leaves an opening perfect for a shaker element.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

It is Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. This is the second alternative this week. If you would like to see all my alternatives check out the playlist here:

1- After removing the section for yesterday’s card (http://creativechelsey.blogspot.com/2023/08/make-more-cards-with-this-quick-easy.html) Trim the cardbase to 3 ½” x 8 ½”, by removing a little of the top & bottom areas on the right side of the cardbase.

2- I forgot to do this step before adding the shaker element, but it is easier to do it now rather than later. Add some blended clouds in the light blue area at the top of the cardbase with a Small Blending Brush, Pool Party Ink, and the leftover piece from one of the die cuts. I used the area that has the palm tree & sign connected to the same paper. See video if this is confusing.

Lay the open cloud shape over the Light Blue area and use your Blending Brush to add a little ink to the top of the clouds. Repeat going down the entire space until you get to the white clouds.

3- Stamp a couple Starfish in Crumb Cake ink in the Sand at the bottom of the cardbase.

4- To create the Shaker Element. Cut a Clear Envelope in half at 2 ¼”. Use Tear & Tape to seal the open edge.

5- Fill with your choice of shaker elements. I used the Gold Sequins from the Retired Sequins For Everything (they are currently in the Clearnace Section for super cheap.) Then close the top flap.

6- Add Tear & Tape to the back of the Card Front along the edge of the opening where the shaker will be. Then add the Clear Envelope to the adhesive. Make sure that the top flap is at the bottom so it will be covered by the base of the Palm Tree Die Cut.

7- Cut from the Back of one of the Pale Blue Envelopes a piece that is 2” x 5 ½”+ and adhere behind the Shaker Element.

Then add everything to the front of the cardbase.

8- Add the Palm Tree Die Cut with dimensionals so the base of the Sand is sitting at the bottom of the Shaker Element.

9- Stamp your greeting on the Rectangle Label with Azure Afternoon Ink and add it just above the Score Line with dimensionals. This will help hide the score line.

10- Stamp the Sun in Daffodil Delight just above the Greeting.

All Done!
