Sending An Ocean Of Love With A Pattern To Hide Score Lines - July 2023 Paper Pumpkin Alternative

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my fifth alternative idea using the July 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Fun In The Sun.

This fun & summery kit creates 9 handmade FUN FOLD cards. There are enough supplies to make three of each card. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative projects.
Today I am sharing with you a Simple Card with a fun pattern that hides the score lines.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

It is Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. This is the fifth alternative this week. If you would like to see all my alternatives check out the playlist here:

1- Remove the solid blue section from the Sunset Cardbase by cutting two horizontal cuts along both the top & bottom score lines. Make sure to stop at the vertical cut line. You don’t want to cut all the way through the cardbase. (I did this for my alternative #4 – http://creativechelsey.blogspot.com/2023/08/no-border-shaker-card-easiest-way-to.html

2- Rotate the solid blue piece so it is horizontal and trim down to 4 ¼” x 3 ½”. So it fits across the bottom of the cardbase.

3- On this solid blue piece stamp a greeting in a repeating pattern at a slight angle. See video for suggestions on how to keep the spacing the same throughout.

4- Add the Light Yellow ½” x 4 ¼” strip to the back on the top of the blue piece so about ¼” of it is showing. Add this to the bottom of a cardbase.

5- Wrap 18” of Linen Thread around the Sand of the Blue Sky & Sand piece and tie a bow on the right side.

6- Add this piece to the center of the cardbase. I placed it so the blue line of the Sea matches with the blue line of the background piece.

7- Stamp your greeting on Basic White Cardstock in Azure Afternoon and trim down to fit. Add it to the center of a Vellum Heart with dimensionals. I punched it using a retired heart punch, but you can use any die cut or even draw and cut one out. Add this to the center of the Blue Sky & Sand piece.

8- Add three clear sequins if you want.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step:
