Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my first alternative idea using the January 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Key To My Heart.
This kit comes with everything you need to make 9 Valentines Day Theme Greeting Cards, 3 in three different designs. This kit is filled with so many fun images & patterns. I like how the lock & key idea is unique and different than the typical Valentines Hearts.
What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative projects. Today I am sharing with you this quick and easy SHAKER card. 1- Cut the Key Hole Cardbase in half at 4 ¼” – save the inside piece for another card. Cut the Petal Pink Crosshatch Cardbase in half at 4 ¼” – save the front for another card and use the back for this card. Cut the back to 2 ½” x 3 ½”.
2- Cut the front Key Hole piece to 3 ¾” x 4 ¼”. Make sure
to keep the Key Hole in the center of the paper by removing ¼” from each side.
Remove the 1 ¼” from the bottom of the paper.
3- On the back of the Key Hole piece front add around the opening. Then cover with a Window Sheet or other clear material.
4- Use Adhesive Foam Strips around the opening to create
a barrier for your shaker elements. Make sure to close all gaps. Add the shaker
elements – I used the Pink For Everything Fancy Sequins. Then remove the paper
backing from the strips.
5- Cover with the 2 ½” x 3 ½” Petal Pink piece from the cardbase. Make sure the Petal Pink side is showing through the Key Hole.
6- Add support to the rest of the card front by placing Foam Adhesive Strips in the corners. Add to the cardbase with about ¼” border around the sides & top.
7- Add the Fine Shimmer Gold piece at the bottom. Support it with a piece or two of Foam Adhesive Strips. Add the Gold Key Die Cut to the center of the Key Hole.
8- Stamp your greeting in Calypso Coral on one of the large labels from the kit. If you want you can remove the Mango Melody details. Add below the Key Hole with dimensionals.
9- Tie a bow with 8-10” of Calypso Coral Twine from the kit. Tuck it under the bottom left corner of the label.
