October 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives Ideas #-2 TWO Christmas Cards From ONE Cardbase - Stampin Up

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my second alternative idea using the October 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Ho Ho Ho.

This kit comes with everything you need to make 9 Christmas Cards, 3 in three different designs. This kit is so fun. I love the fun color combination, the cute die cuts & stamp images. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative projects.

Today I am sharing how you can make two cards from one cardbase. I love creating alternative projects with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more as I continue to create with this month’s kit.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

It is Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. This is the second alternative this week. If you would like to see all my alternatives check out the playlist here:

Cut your pieces

1- Cut the cardbase in half at 4 ¼”. Rotate 90 degree and cut in half at 2 ¾”. This will give you two pieces that are 2 ¾” x 4 ¼”

2- Cut the Crumb Cake Thin Rectangle Snowflake Cut Outs piece in half at 2 ¾”. Make sure you are using a sharp blade so you don’t tear the paper.

3- On one of the pieces trim off the other side of stitching so you only have the white stitched edge on the top and bottom. This is for card #1

4- On the other piece cut off all white stitching. This is for card #2.

See video for a tip on how to cut off the stitching.

Card #1

1- On the cardbase stamp some small snowflakes in the top left and bottom right corners in Early Espresso ink.

2- Add the Crumb Cake Thin Rectangle Snowflake Cut Out piece to the center of one of the cardbase pieces with dimensionals, so the stitching and red sections are on the top and bottom.

3- Wrap 20” of Crumb Cake Twine twice around the center and tie a bow on the right side. Add this to the center of the cardbase.

4- Stamp the Santa image in Early Espresso on the Santa Die Cut. Add to the center with dimensionals.

5- Stamp your greeting in Early Espresso and fussy cut out. Add below the Santa with dimensionals.

6- Add three Vanilla Embellishments from the kit.

7- Add Wink of Stella on Santa’s hat – be careful not to touch the ink it will smear.

All Done!

Card #2

1- Stamp the Snowflake image in Early Espresso ink inside all the snowflakes from the Crumb Cake Thin Rectangle Snowflake Cut Outs piece.

2- Add this to the center of the second cardbase piece. The red sections should be on the sides.

3- Stamp your greeting on the white strip 1” x 4 ¼” (leftover piece from back of cardbase used for alternative #1 - ) Stamp it along the bottom edge in the right corner. Add this to the bottom of the red section piece with about ½” showing. Add everything to the cardbase with about ½” border at the top.

4- Add three snowflakes with a Mini Dimensional behind the center.

5- Add Ho Ho Ho over the vellum piece. Add between the snowflakes and greeting with dimensionals.

Add a little Wink of Stella to the top left side of each “H”.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step and some of the details from the other cards:
