Stampin Up Paper Pumpkin May 2021 Handmade Card Kit - Quick & Easy Baseball Card Alternative Idea

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. For the next couple days, I will share a new alternative idea using the May 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Batter Up. The card I am sharing with you today was inspired by the pinstripe uniforms baseball players sometimes wear. I love how combining the two different stripes together add extra interest to the card. And the fun star add that little extra touch to help Grandpa really feel special.

I love creating alternative cards with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more videos as I continue to create with this month’s kit. I would love to see your finished creations that are inspired by this tutorial! Here are the dimensions and pieces you will need to create these cards:

From the Kit:

Pinstripe Cardbase

Envelope Flap

Baseball Card Die Cut

Small Rectangle

8” Twine

Extra Cardstock:

Night of Navy Cardbase 4 ¼” x 11 scored at 5 ½” / 4” x 5 ¼”

Real Red Cardstock – star shape

Here is a list of the supplies I used to make the cards:

Night of Navy Cardstock 100867 $8.75

Real Red Cardstock 102482 $8.75

Star Punch (retired)

Paper Trimmer 152392 $25.00

Simply Shammy 147042 $8.00

Stampin’ Seal Adhesive 152813 $8.00

Multipurpose Liquid Glue 110755 $4.00

Tear & Tape Adhesive 138995 $7.00

Dimensionals 104430 $4.00

Clear Block D 118485 $8.50

Paper Snips 103579 $10.00

Bone Folder 102300 $7.00

Stampin' Pierce Mat 126199 $5.00

Take Your Pick Tool 144107 $10.00

1- Remove the front from the back of the Pinstripe Cardbase at 4 ¼”. Trim the back piece to 4” x 5 ¼” and add it to the inside of the cardbase.

2- On the front piece cut 2 strips at 1 3/8” x 4”. Add them to the 4” Night of Navy piece about ¼” from the center on both sides. (So there will be a ½” gap in the middle)

3- Cut the flap off of one envelope and trim down to ¾” x 4”. Add this over the gap made by the two pinstripe pieces. Adhere this 4” Night of Navy piece to the front of the cardbase (you can use dimensionals for more depth if you want)

4- Add the Baseball Card with dimensionals at an angle to the left side of the card. Add the Real Red star (use a punch, dies, or hand draw & cut out) off the Baseball Card on the top right.

5- Stamp your choice of Greeting on the small rectangle piece in Night of Navy. Tie a small bow with 8” of twine. Add behind the greeting and adhere with a dimensional over the star.

6- Add three red enamel dots.

All Done!
