Stampin Up New Product Spotlight - Timeless Tulips | Create Handmade Cards 2 ways Simple to Stunning

Welcome to CreativeChelsey,
I am very excited to share with you today a Sneak Peak at some new products in the January – June 2020 Mini Catalog.

These projects were made with the New Timeless Tulips Stamp Set and it’s coordinating Tulip Builder Punch. I really love how they both turned out. I started with the simple cards that just includes paper and ink, then stepped it up by adding a new technique using the Tulip Punch, the Stitched Nested Label Dies, New Ribbon – Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, and some sequins.

Simple Card:
1- Begin by splattering on the front of the card base. Use an Aqua Painter or paintbrush with Garden Green ink. I get the ink on the brush and then run the brush over the lid or my finger to splatter on the cardstock. Let dry.
2- Stamp the three tulips on the White 3” x 5” cardstock in your choice of ink. I did Calypso Coral or Real Red. Stamp the largest tulip first at the top in the center at a slight angle. Stamp the medium size tulip on the right and the smallest on the left.
3- Stamp the steams in Garden Green ink. Letting them overlap if needed.
4- Stamp the leaves – I did the two skinny leaves. Stamp them at different levels on the steams.
5- Add the tulips to the card with dimensionals. Place it on the right of the card with an even border along the top, bottom, and right side.
6- Adhere the strip of Blushing Bride or another coordinating color at an angle to the right side of the card in the middle of the steams.
7- Stamp the greeting on the White strip in matching ink to the flowers. I used both the “Happy Mother’s Day” and the Easter greeting for this card. Add it over the colored cardstock with dimensionals.

Here is the other color version I made using Real Red

Stepped-Up Card:
1- On the 4” x 5.25” Pear Pizazz cardstock do a watercolor wash with Garden Green ink. Use an Aqua Painter and brush the ink over the whole cardstock. Create some dark and light areas with the color. Let dry.
2- Cut the Whisper White Cardstock with the largest label die from the Stitched Nested Label Dies.
3- Stamp the three tulips on the White 3” x 5” cardstock in your choice of ink. I did Highland Heather or Rich Razzleberry. Stamp the largest tulip first at the top in the center at a slight angle. Stamp the medium size tulip on the right and the smallest on the left.
4- On the 2” x 4” Whisper White Cardstock stamp another large tulip and punch.
5- Stamp the petal stamp that matches the punch. Then punch.
6- Next reverse the petal stamp and punch:
Punch some Whisper White cardstock and flip it to the other side.
Clean the large tulip stamp and flip it over so the front is on the block and the back is facing you. This gives you a flat surface which you need for this technique. Ink up the petal stamp and stamp it on the flat side of the large tulip stamp.
Now stamp the petal image that is on the back of the large tulip on the punched white petal that has been flipped.
TaDa you have now reversed the stamp and punch (if this doesn’t make sense try watching the video below)
7- Stamp the steams in Garden Green ink. Letting them overlap if needed.
Stamp the leaves – I did the two skinny leaves. Stamp them at different levels on the steams.
8- Stamp the greeting in the same color as the tulips. I used “Happy Birthday” & the memories sentiment on Whisper White cardstock.
9- Punch with the Label Me Fancy Punch the same color cardstock as the tulips. I used Highland Heather and Rich Razzleberry.
10- To assemble the card, first add the watercolor wash to the front of the card bae.
11- Wrap the ribbon around the bottom of the tulips and tie a bow.
12- Add the tulips to the right side of the card with dimensionals. Make sure the top, bottom, and right borders are the same.
13- Add the punched tulip to the card. Start with the full tulip – place some snail on the back at the bottom and a dimensional at the top. Place over the stamped tulip on the label.
14- Place the right (reversed) petal next with snail on the bottom and a dimensional at the top. Add it so it is slightly outside of the original tulip so it looks a little fuller. Do the same with the left petal.
15- Add the coordinating cardstock strip just above the ribbon.
16- Add the coordinating punched cardstock centered over the strip.
17- Add the greeting with dimensionals centered.
18- Add some sequins.
Here is the other color version I made using Rich Razzleberry
