Stampin' Up Rooted in Nature Stamp Set - How I take a card from simple to advance!

I am excited to share with you 3 cards made with the Rooted in Nature Stamp set from Stampin' Up. The idea behind this blog post was to show you how you can start with a simple card and then add other elements to create either a "stepped up" version or and "advanced" version depending on your interest and available materials.
Here are the 3 cards together.
Here is a quick tutorial showing you how I made these cards:
The simple card
Simple Card Dimensions
Whisper White Cardstock - card base 5.5" x 8.5" scored at 4.25" / 4" x 5.25"
1- On a 4" x 5.25" piece of white cardstock stamp the wood stamp all over with the Gray Granite Ink Pad. This makes an interesting background for the other images.
2 - Next Stamp 6 of the small leaf stamp in Mossy Meadow. I like to pair things in groups of three. You will notice I stamped 3 on the left and 3 on the right along an invisible horizontal line.
3 - Stamp the branch of leaves image in Pretty Peacock. Again there are 3 in each grouping, however the placement varies slightly.
4 - In Black stamp the greeting in between the groups of leaves.
5 - I used dimensionals to adhere the card front to the card base.
Here is the finished card! So quick and easy!
The "Stepped Up" Card
Stepped-Up Card Dimensions
Whisper White Cardstock - card base 5.5" x 8.5" scored at 4.25" / 4" x 5.25" / Scrap paper (2" x 2")
Pretty Peacock 0.25" x 4.25"
Mossy Meadow 0.5" x 4.25"
Braided Linen Trim 16"
1- Start by following steps 1-3 of the simple card. And then on a scrap piece of white cardstock stamp the greeting in Black ink.
2- Because we are stepping this card up a notch I added 2 strips of cardstock. Trim both pieces of cardstock on each side at an angle and then adhere it with snail adhesive along the horizontal line you used when stamping. Adhere the Mossy Meadow piece first.
3- Take the Pretty Peacock strip and adhere it with snail at an angle. This gives the card a little extra interest.
4- Next with the Braided Linen Thread tie a bow near the middle of the right group of leaves.
5- Fussy cut (or cut around) the greeting. For this card I wanted to separate them so I can place them anywhere I wanted.
6- Place the greeting in between the groups of leaves and above the strips of cardstock using Mini Dimensionals. I liked putting them at an angle.
7- I adhered the card front to the base with dimensionals.
Here is the finished card. I couple easy changes really elevate this card to a whole new level.
The "Advanced" Card
Advanced Card Dimensions
Whisper White Cardstock - card base 5.5" x 8.5" scored at 4.25" / 4" x 5.25" / 4.25" x 5.5"
Vellum Cardstock - 3.5" x 4.75"
Pretty Peacock 0.25" x 4.25"
Mossy Meadow 0.5" x 4.25"
Braided Linen Trim 16"
1- This card starts the same way as the simple card. With the wood background in Gray Granite.
2- Next stamp the same grouping of leaves, but only on the right side.
3- On another piece of white cardstock (4.25" x 5.5") Stamp 1 wood stamp in Gray Granite, 3 small leaves in Mossy Meadow, and 3 branches in Pretty Peacock,
4- The wood needs to be fussy cut.
5- Then use the Nature Roots Dies and the Big Shot to cut out the other images.
6- Stamp the greeting in Black in an empty spot on the same cardstock as the other images.
7- Fussy cut around the outside edge of the greeting. (Don't separate the sayings for this card)
8- Place a sheet of vellum cardstock over the background images.
9- Place the strips of Mossy Meadow and Pretty Peacock in the same place as the "stepped-up" card.
10- Tie a bow with the Braided Linen Thread.
11- Using the leaves you cut with the big shot or other die cutting machine. Place them with glue dots or snail in a similar arrangement as the stamped images for the simple & stepped-up cards on top of the wood image you cut out.
12- Add dimensionals to the back of this group.
13- Place them over the horizontal strips and to the left. Make sure to keep the ends of the strips peeking out on the left of the wood and leaves element.
14- With a dimensional add the greeting to the middle of the wood and leaves element. This should cover up the place where all the stems meet.
