Tips to Adding That Special Touch - May 2024 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card Ideas - Stampin' Up!

Hi Everyone and welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on creative chelsey. Today I am sharing with you my third set of alternative cards using the May 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called The Best There Is. The kit creates a total of 9 greeting card 3 in three different designs. If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and create these cards or see any of my other alternatives click on the playlist below.

For today’s alternatives I created two cards with the center focal point being the hexagon die from the coordinating Thanks & Beyond Dies. I love how they have a similar layout, but two different looks.

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store.

Card #1

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Misty Moonlight Cardbase (kit) – 4” x 5 ½”

Basic White Cardstock – scrap for greeting

Pool Party Cardstock – scrap

Wild Wheat Foliage (kit)

Linen Thread – 12”

1- Cut the Misty Moonlight Cardbase at 4” x 5 ½”.

2- Cut the Hexagon Die from the center. I did place it about ¼” higher so more space was at the bottom. I felt this was more pleasing to my eye. Save the Hexagon for card #2.

3- Add the frame to the cardbase with dimensionals.

4- Stamp your greeting in Misty Moonlight on Basic White Cardstock and cut out with the same Hexagon Die. Add this to the opening.

5- Trim sections off the Wild Wheat Foliage and tuck the raw edge under the frame. I added three sections. Save the rest for card #2 & tomorrow card.

6- Cut three Pool Party flowers using a punch or dies. I used the retired Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, but you can use whatever you have on hand. Add near the Foliage. Place a small Pearl inside each flower.

7- Tie a bow with 12” of Linen Thread and place in the bottom right corner.

Card #2

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Crumb Cake Cardbase (kit) – 1 ½” x 4 1/8”

Early Espresso Cardbase (kit) – 4 1/8” x 4 1/8”

Pool Party Cardstock – 1” x 4 1/8”

Pool Party Foliage (kit)

Wild Wheat Foliage (kit)

Banner Label (kit)

Linen Thread – 12”

1- Cut the Early Espresso Cardbase in half and then with the back, cut a 4 1/8” x 4 1/8” square. Tear off the top edge and add to the bottom of the cardbase with even borders.

2- Tuck the Pool Party strip under the torn edge.

3- Cut the Crumb Cake Cardbase to 1 ½” x 4 1/8” and tear off the bottom edge. Add to the top of the cardbase with even borders.

4- Add the Wild Wheat Foliage to the top of the Misty Moonlight Hexagon Die Cut piece from card #1.

5- Separate one Pool Party Foliage and add to the bottom.

6- Add a bow to the center between the two Foliage pieces.

7- Stamp your greeting in Misty Moonlight on the Banner Label and trim off each side at ½” with the point at ½”.

8- Add dimensionals to the left & right edges on the back of the greeting and reattach the sides to create a 3D banner.

9- Add the greeting over the bow and raw edges of the Foliage.

10- Add the Hexagon Die Cut to the cardbase with dimensionals.

I have also created a video walking you through each step.
