April 2025 Inked Occasions Alternative Card Ideas - Simple Designs using the Kit, Ink & Cardstock

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Today I begin sharing beautiful Alternate Card Ideas you can make with supplies from the April 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Inked Occasions.

The cards in this kit are beautiful with blended alcohol ink and gold foil accents. They are perfect for any occasion.

I am starting this week with two easy alternate card ideas made from one cardbase in the kit. These alternatives use only the products in the kit. The rest of my alternative I will share this week also use the hugs abloom coordinating add on dies.

Card #1

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Fresh Freesia Cardstock – 3” x 3”

Pool Party Cardstock – 2 ½” x 3 ½”

White Baker’s Twine – 20”

Light Color Cardbase – Kit

Long Flowers Die Cut – Kit

Thinking of You Label – Kit

1- Cut the Light Color Cardbase in half at 4 ¼”. From the Back (no gold edge) trim off 1/8” from both the height and width. Add to the front of the cardbase with 1/16” border all around.

2- With a Blending Brush add Berry Burst ink to the top & bottom of the Fresh Fresia Square piece. Distress the edges and add to the center of the cardbase about 1” from the top.

3- On the Pool Party piece add Pool Party ink to the left & right sides with a Blending Brush. Stamp the small butterflies in the corners & one or two in the center. Splatter with Pool Party ink (I used a Stampin’ Write Marker). Add to the center of the Fresh Freesia piece.

4- Separate the Tall Branch (on the left) from the Multi-color Long Flowers Die Cut add it with a small dimensional to the right side of the Pool Party piece.

5- Stamp your greeting in the Coordinating Label from the Kit. I used Thinking of You in Berry Burst ink. Separate 20” of Baker’s Twine into two pieces and wrap one piece around your hand. Adhere to the back of the greeting with Tear & Tape.

Add to the bottom left area of the Pool Party piece with dimensionals.

Card #2

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Fresh Freesia Cardstock – 1 ½” x 4 ¾”

Berry Burst Cardstock – 1 ½” x 4 ¾”

Gold Foil Sheet – ½” x 4 ¾”

Light Color Cardbase – Kit

Gold Leaf Die Cut – Kit

Congratulations Label - Kit

1- Cut the Front of the Light Color Cardbase to 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” by removing 1/16” from each side. Add it to the center of the White Cardbase.

2- Tear one long side from both the Berry Burst & Fresh Freesia strips.

3- Add the Gold Foil Strip behind the Fresh Freesia piece with about 1/16” showing along the straight edge. Add the Berry Burst piece behind with the torn edge on top. You should have a torn edge on top & bottom of this multi-layered strip.

4- Separate the Gold Leaves Die Cut and tuck on under the Gold Foil on the left side.

Add the other on top a little to the right.

5- Stamp your greeting on the coordinating label – I used Congratulations in Berry Burst. Add over the base of the Gold Leaves and across the strip with dimensionals.

6- Add everything to the center of the cardbase.
