Create A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies with the April 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit from Stampin' Up!

Hi Everyone and welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Over the last week or so I have shared some great card ideas you can make with one set of supplies from the April 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Delicate Wings. If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and create the original cards or see any of my other alternative projects click on the playlist below.

Today I will be using the last piece left from the kit, the large white cardstock with two butterflies on it. We will be using masking and stamp off stamp on techniques to get this kaleidoscope of butterflies (isn’t that a beautiful name for a group of butterflies. I just love it).

Iridescent Rhinestones

Basic Gray Ink Spot (kit)

Two Butterfly White Piece (kit)

1- Trim off the foil edge so you Two Butterfly piece is about 3 ½” x 4 5/8”

2- Create 3 masks with the Butterfly Die and Masking Paper. This won’t be a perfect fit, but that is okay. Add them over the Lost Lagoon & Beige Butterflies.

3- Stamp a Butterfly in Basic Gray above the Lost Lagoon, and a Moody Mauve below the Beige.

4- Remove the Masks and add more color to the three solid butterflies with Stampin Write Markers in Moody Mauve, Lost Lagoon, Basic Gray & Crumb Cake.

Only use the three colors that are not the solid color of the butterfly. You don’t need to fill in the entire butterfly leave a lot of white.

5- Add the Masks back to the butterflies. Stamp more butterflies around using a Stamp OFF – Stamp ON technique to create lighter colors. You can also use the Closed Wings Butterfly Stamp if you want. If you want to add another Beige Butterfly you can use Crumb Cake with the stamp off – stamp on technique.

Remove the maks.

6- Add some splatter if you want. I used Crumb Cake ink in just a couple places.

7- Remove the center section of the butterflies with the Label Die from the Thanks & Beyond Dies.

8- One the 2 ½” x 3” Basic Gray piece trace the outside edge of the Label Die used to cut out the center section. Cut along the traced line to get a slightly larger shape.

9- Add the butterfly center section over the Basic Gray shape. Add the butterfly background to the Basic Gray 3 5/8” x 4 ¾” piece.

Add the center section over the opening with dimensionals. Add everything to the cardbase with dimensionals.

10- Stamp your greeting on the White strip in Basic Gray ink. Cut the ends to a fish tail shape. Add to the center of the label with dimensionals.

11- Add your choice of embellishment, I used the Iridescent Rhinestones because they are retiring and I love them!

I have also created a video walking you through each step.
