Make 4 Alternative Cards From 1 Cardbase with the March 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Memorable Meadows

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Over the next couple days, I am going to share with you 12 card ideas you can make with one set of supplies from the March 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Memorable Meadows.

The projects from this kit are perfect for this time of year, it includes beautifully designed cardbases and fun wooden laser cut shapes. This kit creates a total of 9 greeting cards 3 in three different designs. If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and create these cards click on the playlist below.

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog – www.creativechelsey.com

Today I am sharing with you my first set of alternative cards. I have made all four cards from one cardbase in the kit. In today’s video I am going to share with you a great tip to make the most out of your supplies.

Prep

1- With the Horizontal Flower Cardbase, separate the front from the back by removing the folded edge at 5-3/8”. Then rotate and separately cut each side down to 4-1/8”. Final measurement for both pieces should be 4-1/8” x 5-3/8”.

2- On one piece cut a circle from the center. I used the largest circle die (about 3” diameter) from the Stylish Shape Dies.

3- On the other piece cut a square from the right side about 7/8” from the right edge. I used the second largest square (about 2-3/8”) from the Stylish Shape Dies.

4- Open one envelope by removing the folded edges. From the pattern side cut a piece to 1 ¾” x 5 ½”.

5- Cut the Purple Vellum Small Strip (1” x 3-3/16”) cut in half lengthwise then in half again to get a piece about ½” x 1 ½”.

Card #1
(06:20)
Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
Flower Horizontal Cardbase (kit) – Die Cut Square @ 2-3/8”
Fresh Freesia Cardstock – Die Cut Square @ 2-13/16”
Basic White Cardstock – Strip for greeting

1- Cut a 2-13/16” Square from Fresh Freesia Cardstock. I used the largest square from the Stylish Shape Dies.

2- Layer the Floral Square in the center (Prep Step 3). Add this to the cardbase with about ¾” border along the left, right, & top edges.

3- Stamp your greeting in Garden Green ink on a strip of Basic White Cardstock. Cut out with the Small Thin Banner Die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. It will not fit, so you will need to do a Partial Die Cutting Technique. See the video below for step-by-step instructions (begins around 07:53 in the video).

4- Add the greeting to the bottom area of the square with dimensionals.

5- Add 3 Sequins or other embellishments.

Card #2 (10:50)
Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
Flower Horizontal Cardbase (kit) – Die Cut Circle @ 3”
Fresh Freesia Cardstock – Strip ¾” x 5 ½”
Purple Vellum (kit) – Strip Cut from the leftover edge pieces 1/8” x 5 ½”
Basic White Cardstock – 2” x 5 ½” & Scrap for greeting
Envelope (kit) – 1 ¾” x 5 ½”

1- Add the Envelope piece to the left side of the cardbase. It should sit along the edges.

2- Add the Fresh Freesia Strip to the right of the envelope piece.

3- Emboss the Basic White piece with your choice of Embossing Folder. I used the Crosshatch design from the Basics 3D Pack. Add this to the right side of the cardbase. It will overlap the Fresh Freesia piece leaving about ½” showing.

4- From one of the Purple Vellum sheets, separate the longest edge from the leftovers. Add this over the seam between the Fresh Freesia Strip and the Envelope Pattern. Trim off any excess.

5- Add the Floral Circle (Prep Step 2) with dimensionals to the cardbase so the vertical center line of the circle sits between the Fresh Freesia & Purple Vellum strips.

6- Stamp your greeting Gorgeous Grape ink on Basic White Cardstock and fussy cut out (or you can use a die cut/punch). Add to the center of the circle with dimensionals.

7- If you want you can stamp the Splatter image from the Daisies For You Set in Fresh Freesia ink around the Circle on the Envelope Pattern. Add 3 Sequins or other embellishments.

Card #3 (17:44)

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
Flower Horizontal Cardbase (kit) – Background with center Die Cut Circle @ 3”
Fresh Freesia Cardstock – Die Cut Circle @ 3”
Purple Vellum (kit) – Small Strip cut in half lengthwise then in half again to get a piece about ½” x 1 ½”
Basic White Cardstock –Scrap for Stamping

1- Adhere the Floral Background with the Circle to the center of the cardbase.

2- Cut out a 3” Circle (using the same die) from Fresh Freesia Cardstock. Adhere inside the opening.

3- Take one of the ½” x 1 ½” Purple Vellum pieces (Prep Step #5) and trim each end to a slight angle. Cut the strip in half to get two small angled pieces. Add these to the center of the Fresh Freesia Circle with the angles about 3/8” beyond the edge.

4- Stamp the Large Lined Flower from the Daisies For You Set (second set in the kit) in Garden Green ink on Basic White Cardstock. Stamp the Solid Flower image in Fresh Freesia & the Solid Leaves image in Garden Green with the stamp-off, stamp-on technique to get a lighter images. Stamp the Detail Flower image in Fresh Freesia and the Inside in Daffodil Delight.

5- Cut out the stamped flowers with the Second Largest Circle Die (2 ½” diameter) and add it to the center of the Fresh Freesia Circle with dimensionals. It should cover the gap between the Purple Vellum Pieces.

6- Stamp your greeting in Garden Green twice on Basic White Cardstock. From one cut out with a Small Circle Die (1-11/16”) that fits most of the text. Add it with dimensionals to the bottom right area of the center circles.

7- Fussy cut out any text that extends beyond the circle with the second stamped greeting. Add it over the text on the circle to complete the text.

8- Add 3 Sequins or other embellishments.

Card #4 (28:14)

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
Flower Horizontal Cardbase (kit) – Background with Die Cut Square @ 2-3/8”
Purple Vellum (kit) – Small Strip cut in half lengthwise then in half again to get a piece about ½” x 1 ½”
Envelope (kit) – Back White piece – Die Cut Square @ 2-13/16”
White Gel Pen (this is my favorite from amazon)—— https://amzn.to/3Rp9LrZ      (As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases)

1- Adhere the Floral Background with the Square to the center of the cardbase.

2- Cut out a 2-13/16” Square from the White Back Envelope Piece (I like water coloring on this paper).

3- Stamp the Lined Small Flower from the Memorable Meadows Stamp Set in Light Crumb Cake (stamp-off, stamp-on) to the right of center.

4- Clean the stamp and only ink the flower, repeat using the stamp technique to stamp the flower under the first on the left. Then clean again and only ink the bottom half of the stem, stamp (same technique) to add a short stem to the second flower.

5- Using a Water Painter or a Small Paintbrush and Water, color in the flower. The Light Crumb Cake should disappear. I used Fresh Freesia for the Petals, Daffodil Delight for the Center, Garden Green for Leaves & Stem. Balmy Blue for open space around the flowers (if you want). Let dry completely.

6- If you have a White Gel Pen, add little details to the flowers. I drew some lines going from the center out on each petal. A couple highlight dots in the Center of the Flowers, and a couple lines in the Leaves.

7- Stamp your greeting in Garden Green to the right of the Flowers. It is okay if it overlaps the flowers a little.

8- Add the second ½” x 1 ½” Purple Vellum piece (Prep Step #5) to the bottom left side so about ¼” is showing. If you want your can angle the corners.

9- Add everything over the square opening with dimensionals.

10- Add 3 Sequins or other embellishments.

I have also created a video walking you through each step, you can find the times I start each card above:
