Add Color With Blending Brushes - December 2023 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Ideas - Stampin' Up!

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey.

Hi Everyone and welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on creative chelsey. This week I am going to share with you great card ideas you can make with one set of supplies from this month’s kit. Today I am sharing my third set of alternative card using the December 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit called All The Best. This beautiful kit creates a total of 9 greeting card, three in 3 different designs. Plus it includes one acetate gift box that fits the cards.

The cards I am sharing today use blending brushes to add a pop of color over the gold accents. You can make these are light or dark as you want. I am excited to show you how.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

1- Cut the Sky Cardbase (4 ¼” x 5 ½”) into three pieces. (2) 1-1/8” x 5 ½” for card #1 & 2” x 5 ½” for card #2.

2- Cut the White & Gold Floral Accent piece between the two flowers at about 2-1/8”. The small single flower section is for card #1. The larger two flower section is for card #2 – trim a little off the bottom so it is 4 ½” tall.

3- Cut the Square Label in half for card #1.

4- Put together Card #1 – Add the two sky pieces to the left & right sides of the cardbase.

With your choice of colors, I used Crushed Curry & Old Olive, and a Blending Brush add color over the gold flower and seed pods. You can make it as dark or light as you want, or you can skip this step if you want a cleaner look.

Add the Square Label piece to the back of the Gold Flower piece about ½” from the bottom. Place the left side about ¼” from the bottom corner and the right side about ½”. Add this to the center of the cardbase with dimensionals. There will be a slight border of Balmy Blue around it.

Stamp your greeting in Pebbled Path on some envelope scraps and fussy cut out. Add these to the right side of the label with dimensionals.

Add 3-5 Gems

5- Put together Card #2 – Remove a strip of gold from the left over edge of the Banner scraps. Trim off the white and add to the top of the 2” Sky piece, trim the side to match. Flag the bottom into a fish tail shape. Add to the cardbase about 1” from the left edge.

With your choice of colors, I used Crushed Curry, Old Olive & Balmy Blue, and a Blending Brush add color over the gold flowers filling the entire piece with color. I begin with Old Olive in the middle and then added Crushed Curry to the top and Balmy Blue to the bottom. You can make it as dark or light as you want, or you can skip this step if you want a cleaner look. Flag the bottom into a fish tail shape and add to the right side of the cardbase with dimensionals. I left about 5/16” border on the right an 3/8” from the top.

Heat Emboss the greeting on Vellum. Begin by adding a little embossing buddy, then stamp your greeting VersaMark. Add Gold Embossing Powder over the entire image and tap off excess. Heat with Heat tool.

Using your Paper Trimmer cut the vellum down to fit the greeting giving more space (about ¾”) at the bottom. Flag the bottom into a fish tail shape.

Add the Gold Flower Die Cut to the left bottom area of the greeting with glue dots. Then add a dimensional behind it to help support the vellum banner.

You can also hide a couple glue dots in the words. I placed some behind the “o” in you & “e” in the.

Add the Vellum Banner to the left side about 5/8” from the left and about ¾” from the top.

Add 3-5 Gems.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step:
