Handcraft Holiday Card - Alternative Card Idea For October 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Stampin' Up!

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey.

The holiday season is upon us, and what better way to spread the cheer than with a personal touch? The October 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Home For The Holidays has adorable Christmas scenes- perfect inspiration for truly heartfelt handmade cards. Ove the next couple days, I invite you to come back and see all the cards I create and learn how you too can create beautiful, one-of-a-kind holiday cards that are sure to warm the hearts of your loved ones.

This week I am going to share with you 5 card ideas you can make with one set of supplies from this month’s kit. This festive kit creates 8 greeting cards, 4 in two different designs.

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are simple and use just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. The link to all products is below.

Today I am sharing with you my first alternative card using the October 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Home For The Holidays. Today’s card makes a bold statement with strong colors that coordinate with the printed image on the cardbase, which we will be cutting up for the center element.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

It is Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. This is the first alternative this week. If you would like to see all my alternatives check out the playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40dV1oxpkNkuBl42NvWJL4-BfU6rzTaB

1- Begin by cutting the cardbase along the score line at 4 ¼”. Then rotate the front piece and cut in half at 2 ¾”. Adhere the top piece (houses) to the center of the Balmy Blue piece.

2- From the bottom all white piece cut a 1” x 2 ¾” strip. Stamp your greeting in Real Red ink and trim a little. If you want round the corners with paper snips.

3- Stamp the Snowflake image in Night of Navy ink about ½” from the edge of the front of the card. This will make it so they peek out from behind the center element. Don’t stamp along the edge, unless you want to.

4- Adhere the house piece to the center of the cardbase.

5- Cut the Glimmer Strip in half lengthwise, just under ½” so they are the same width. Add both to the bottom of the center piece, so it looks like one long piece, with dimensionals.

6- Add adhesive to the back of the greeting. Wrap the ribbon back and forth to create a “Z” shape faux bow. Trim the ends at an angle. Add underneath the houses with dimensionals.

7- Add some Glitter Glue to the roofs and moon.

All Done!
