How I Created Four Cards from One with the April 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit - All The Little Things - Stampin' Up! Alternatives Ideas

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my first alternative idea using the April 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit called All The Little Things.

This beautiful kit creates 9 handmade cards. There are enough supplies to make three of each card. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative projects. Today I am sharing how you can create 4 simple cards from one card. All you need are 4 extra cardbases in your choice of coordinating colors. I used one of each color, Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Calypso Coral, and Petal Pink.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com

It is Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. This is the first alternative this week. If you would like to see all my alternatives check out the playlist here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40dV1oxpkNm7M_0v-ZSzVBkB6IHUPVt1

Card Prepping

1- Cut the White Cardbase from the kit in half along the score line at 4 ¼”. Rotate, and cut each piece in half at 2 ¾”. This will give you four pieces that are 2 ¾” x 4 ¼”.

2- Cut off the flap from the envelope use for Card #1.

3- Trim off the folded edges on the envelope to remove the front from the back. From the solid front side cut three pieces. Follow video below.

(Card #3) 2 ½” x 4”

(Card #4) 2” x 4 ½”

(Card #2) 1 ¼” x 4 ¼”

4- Separate the three peonies from the group. See the video for details on where to cut.

5- Fussy cut around each flower to remove the white border. This will give your flowers a uniform look.

6- With a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker add a little black border around each flower. Use the edge of the brush trip instead of the point. See video.

Stamp the Background on the Cardbases

TIP- If using two similar colors like Shaded Spruce & Granny Apple Green, or Calypso Coral & Petal Pink you can use Generational Stamping to get a lighter color for the lighter cardstock.

1- Ink the random dot image in Shaded Spruce and stamp a border around the cardbase about ¼” from the edge.

2- If you want to do Generational Stamping you stamp first on the darker cardstock, then stamp again on the lighter cardstock without reinking. Repeat.

3- Do the same with the Calypso Coral and Petal Pink Cardbases with Calypso Coral ink.

4- You do not need to stamp in the center as this area will be covered.

Card #1

1- Place the flap of the envelope on one White 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” piece so the long edge sits at the bottom right corner and the top edge is lined up with the top of the white piece. Adhere and trim off the excess.

There should be a small strip about ½” x 4 ½” left over, use this for card #2.

2- Stamp the branch image in Shaded Spruce in the white space and across on the pattern paper. To get a lighter image stamp off first, then stamp on.

3- Stamp your greeting above the branch on the pattern paper in full strength Shade Spruce ink.

4- Add adhesive between the two branches along the diagonal between the white and pattern paper. Create a faux bow with 18” of twine. I create a double loop. Add dimensionals over the twine to hold in place.

5- Add the large flower over the twine.

6- Add dimensionals to the back and place in the center of the Petal Pink Cardbase.

Card #2

1- Trim the ½” x 4 ½” strip leftover from the envelope flap from card #1 to ½” x 4 ¼”. Adhere to the back along the 1 ¼” x 4 ¼” strip cut from the front of the envelope. Add both of these to the top one of a horizontal White 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” piece.

2- Stamp your greeting in Shaded Spruce to the left in the white space.

3- Add the small flower with a dimensional to the right side with one leaf tucked under the paper to hide the cut out.

4- Take 18” of twine and match the ends together. Measure 4” from the ends and tie a knot. Place a glue dot where you want your bow on the card and add the knot to the glue dot. Even out the twine so it looks like you have double wrapped around the cardstock. Place a glue dot on the back of the cardstock and adhere the twine loops.

5- Tie a bow.

6- Add dimensionals to the back, make sure to add some over the twine to hold in place. Add to the center of the Granny Apple Green Cardbase.

Card #3

1- On the 2 ½” x 4” envelope piece stamp the random dots in Shaded Spruce in the bottom 2/3. I wanted a lighter color so I stamped off first, then on.

2- Stamp your greeting near the top.

3- Add your flower with dimensionals in the bottom right area.

4- Add the envelope piece in the center of one 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” white piece.

5- Add this to the center of your cardbase with dimensionals.

6- Add 3 Iridescent Rhinestones.

Card #4

1- Stamp your greeting about 1” from the bottom of the 2” x 4 ½” envelope piece.

2- Add to the center of one 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” white piece. It will extend about 1/8” from the top and bottom. If you want you can distress the top & bottom edges with a pair of paper snips.

3- Add the large flower with white border with dimensionals to the right side of the greeting.

4- Add everything to the center of a Shaded Spruce Cardbase with dimensionals.

5- Add 3 Iridescent Rhinestones.
