A Fun Variation To The April 2023 SheetLoad of Cards #SLCTApr2023 & Goodbye To Retiring Products

Today I am sharing my version of April 2023 Sheetload of Cards from Call Me Crafty Al. This month her template creates 6 handmade cards with 6” x 6” sheets of pattern paper. Each month Alicia from Call Me Crafty Al designs a fun template to create multiple handmade cards. Her designs are always fun and easy to use. They include a list of the types of products you need along with measurements to help you cut each piece.

For my card this month I wanted to highlight some retiring product from the January – April Catalog & 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. Both of these catalogs expire on May 1st and many wonderful products will not be available after that. You can see all the products that are retiring in the Last Chance List get a copy now here:

The paper I used is the The Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!. You can see that this paper has a lot of seaside images, however, I wanted to use the patterns from this gorgeous paper in a way that didn’t feel like ocean or water so I choose the Petal Park stamp set to create my focal point, instead of the coordinating Seaside Bay Stamp Set. I love how the flowers bring a different look to my cards. I stamped the flowers in Petal Pink ink and the leaves in Soft Sea Foam and Pear Pizzazz ink.

I love the touches of Gold in the patterns and wanted to bring more gold onto my card, so I cut out the amazing sentiment from the Amazing Thanks Dies in the Gold Finish from the Brushed Metallic Cardstock Pack.

You may have noticed that I have changed the layout slightly from her original design. I decided to use one plain sheet from the Lovely Layers Vellum on each card and emboss it with an embossing folder to give it a fun texture. I love how easy it is to use these perfectly sized pieces on my cards. I also wanted a looser look to my cards and decided to angle the two pattern papers instead of keeping them straight like Alicia’s design. I like the fun look this gives my cards.

Of course, I had to add more gold embellishments with Gold Twine & Sequins.

I just love how they turned out.
