Simple Halloween Alternative Cards using September 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Stampin' Up!

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my third set of alternative ideas using the September 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Spooky Treats.

This kit comes with everything you need to make 18 Halloween Treat Boxes, 6 in three different designs. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative projects. This set of three handmade cards all have the same layout making them easy & quick. I love changing up the little details like the color combinations and where to place the cute die cuts. Don’t miss the easy stamping tip I give so you can make more of those adorable ghosts. I love creating alternative projects with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more as I continue to create with this month’s kit.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

It is Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. This is the third alternative this week. If you would like to see all my alternatives check out the playlist here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40dV1oxpkNnNgYxeAHN73IKpPUSTBYYJ

1- Cut the outside/wrapper box template to 5 ½”. If using the White Web piece you may need to cut some off both sides so you don’t cut in the center of the web. Keep the Fresh Freesia & Plaid extra pieces – step 3.

2- Use an embossing folder to hide the score lines. I used the Stripes & Splatters. When embossing the top & bottom section of the White Web piece, only place the area you want embossed inside the folder – see video.

3- Trim off the angle from the leftover wrapper piece to create a square about 2-5/8” x 2-5/8”. If you want to emboss this piece as well you can.

4- Stamp a design on the cardbase, I only did this on the Fresh Freesia. I used the back of the Ghost stamp in Fresh Freesia Ink and did 2nd generation stamping. See video.

5- Add the 3” x 5 ½” strip to the left side of the cardbase with about ¼” gap. If you are using the White Web piece, place a scrap piece of Pumpkin Pie behind it (scrap is from alternative #1). For the Fresh Freesia & Plaid pieces, place the smaller square of opposite color in the center about 1” from the top.

6- Then decorate as you wish with Die Cuts, Stamped & Fussy Cut images, Black Stars.

You can see the photos above for some placement ideas.

7- To get more Ghost, ink the Ghost image in Fresh Freesia, then before stamping use a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and color in the eyes & mouth.

Then stamp on white paper (I used scraps) and fussy cut out inside the Fresh Freesia line (no bubble cut).

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step and some of the details from the other cards:
