Panel Pop-Up Slider Card - Alternative Handmade Card Idea - February 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Safari

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my first alternative idea using the February 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Safari Celebration.

What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative cards. Today I am sharing a fun Panel Pop-Up Card Idea. I love creating alternative projects with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more as I continue to create with this month’s kit.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

1- Trim a cardbase from the kit to 4” x 5 ¼”. Cut a center panel on the sides at ½”, stop the blade ¾” from the top and bottom. Repeat for the other side. From the bottom cut between the two side cuts at ¾” from the edge.

2- Score the top edge of the center panel at ¾” from the top edge. Score again in the center between the two side cut lines at 2 5/8”. Fold the top edge back then the bottom half on top of itself.

Find the center of the top edge. Use a circle punch to cut out an opening at the top for the pull tab.

3- On the 3 ½” x 4 ¾” Basic White piece score the bottom edge at ¼”. Then trim off ¼” from each side on the ¼” flap. Adhere the flap to the inside bottom edge of the center panel. This should now pull the center panel up and down. See video below if needed.

4- Stamp a greeting and design on the top half of the inside pull tab. This greeting will show when the center panel pops up.

5- Add dimensionals to the edges around the inside pull tab. I cut the larger dimensionals in ½. Also add dimensionals in the bottom corners to add support. Adhere to the front of the cardbase.

6- Decorate the center panel. I cut down an envelope from the kit to 3” x 3 ¾”. Adhere to the bottom half of the center panel. Add the vellum circle to the center. Add the hula-hoop monkey with dimensionals left of center. Add one small leaf to the right of the monkey.

7- Stamp your greeting on the back of the small Pear Pizzazz rectangle. Add to the right of the monkey below the leaf.

8- Pull up the panel and decorate the open white space. I used a 1” x 3 ¼” piece from the envelope and a ¼” x 3 ¼” strip from a different cardbase. Then stamp another greeting inside and add a die cut if you want.

9- Push the pull tab all the way in and make a mark where to punch a small hole. Then pull the tab all the way out and punch. Fold 5” of ribbon in half and push the folded edge through the hole. Open the loop and string the ends through. Carefully pull the ends to tighten.

10- Color 5 embellishments with a coordinating Stampin’ Blend Marker and add around the card.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step and some of the details from the other cards:
