Create A Punch Template For Perfect Stamping -Flowers Of Friendship Bundle -2021 Artisan Design Team

Hello My Crafting Friends,

Today I am sharing my second card from my Stampin’ Up 2021 Artisan Design Team showcase project for May 2021. If you would like to also see my first card you can visit my blog post here: https://creativechelsey.blogspot.com/2021/06/how-to-create-your-own-stamps-flowers.html

This card is very similar to the first card. I wanted them to be a set so I kept a lot of the techniques and colors the same. For this card I wanted to focus on using the punch along with the stamp set. However, as I was using the punch, I realized I couldn’t stamp all the images and punch them out at the same time. So, I came up with this tip to get a perfect stamped image and not waste any punched out shapes by using a template from the punch and the Stamparatus. I hope you enjoy this tutorial and that it inspires you to create something beautiful today.

How to Create Your Own Solid Stamps for the Inside of the Lined Images:

1- Use StazOn Ink and stamp a single petal from one of the single flower images or a leaf image on the leftover red rubber.

2- Use a pair of OLD Paper Snips and cut a bubble around the image. Then angle the scissors and remove the extra rubber from around the stamped image going right up to the outside edge.  Tip: Make short straight cuts.

Making the Label:

1- Remove the paper backing from the leftover label sheet. This will expose the sticky side that is attached to the stamp. Use StazOn Ink and stamp the same image on this exposed sticky label.

2- Bubble cut out the image and adhere it to the foam side of the stamp. I do this by removing the other paper backing and attach that side to a clear block. Then stamp the label onto the foam side of the stamp.

See Video Below.

Creating a Punch Template for Perfect Stamping:

1- From Dark Color Cardstock punch the Flower & Leaves Punch (or any other multi-shape punch). This is the template.

2- From Basic White Cardstock punch the Flower & Leave Punch 3 times. Organize the shapes by size.

3- Attach the left edge of the window sheet to the base of the Stamparatus with Washi Tape to create a hinge. Place the stamp in the center of the window sheet and pick it up with one of the plates. Ink up the stamp and stamp on the Window Sheet. I used Evening Evergreen ink.

4- Place the template under the window sheet and line up the coordinating shape with the stamped image. Use washi tape to hold the template in place.

5- Place one of the coordinating Basic White pieces into the opening in the template. Make sure it fits exactly. Ink up the stamp and stamp onto the Basic White piece. Repeat all of that shape.

6- Then clean the window sheet & stamp. Remove the stamp and repeat steps for the next stamp.

Making the Card:

1- Use the inside petal and leaves stamps you created to add color to the inside of the flowers and leaves. I did 1 large and 2 small in Fresh Freesia, & 1 large and 1 small in Pale Papaya. Leaves in Soft Succulent.

2- With the tiny flowers in a line, ink only one and stamp in it Balmy Blue ink on the single sheet of Balmy Blue Cardstock randomly from the top left corner to about 1” from the bottom right corner.

3- Add a splatter of color over the tiny flowers with a Water Painter and Balmy Blue ink. Let dry.

4- With the Tiny Scallop Basic Border Die cut the bottom edge of the Balmy Blue Sheet about 4” from the top of the cardstock.

5- Use the Banners Pick A Punch and cut out a banner from one end of the 1” Evening Evergreen strip. Then cut the strip to 2” in length. Add this to the center of the Balmy Blue Cardstock about ½” from the scallop border.

6- Stamp the greeting in Evening Evergreen on Basic White Cardstock. Cut out with one of the Tailor Made Tag Dies. Place the die so the greeting and the scallop & hole are on the left side of the die. Run through your Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine.

7- Then flip the die so the top scallop & hole are on the right side and line it up so you have even spacing between the die and the greeting on the sides. Use washi tape to hold in place. Place it on the cutting plates so the top plate only covers the decorative edge on the right side. Run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

8- Cut two pieces of 6” of twine. Fold in half and string the loop through the hole. Take the ends and go through the loop. Pull tight. Do the same for the other hole. Add the Tag to the Balmy Blue piece with dimensionals. Attach the ends to the back of the cardstock.

9- Attach the Balmy Blue Cardstock to the Vellum piece with about ¼” from the top and evenly spaced on sides. Add this to the cardbase.

10- Add the flowers and leaves going from the top left corner to the bottom right and around the greeting. Place dimensionals behind the flowers and glue on the leaves.

11- Cut 10” of twine and tie a bow around the twine on the right side of the greeting. Add matching In Color Rhinestones to the center of each flower.

All Done!
