My New Favorite Layout SIMPLE & STEPPED-UP using the Snowflake Splendor Suite from Stampin' Up!

For today’s tutorial I would like to share with you a great new layout that can work with any Designer Series Paper or other pattern paper and stamp set. I also show you how to create stepped-up card by adding more texture and elements, but keeping to the same layout. I hope you like this layout as much as I do and give it a try.

I hope you enjoy this handmade card tutorial and come back for more. I would love to see your finished creations that are inspired by this tutorial! You can tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com

Cut Designer Series Paper (finished size 3 ½” x 5 ½” & ¾” x 5 ½”)

1- Start with a 12” x 12” sheet. Cut at 5 ½” and then again at 5 ½”. You will have 1” strip left, trim to ¾”

2- Rotate 5 ½” sheets and cut 3 pieces at 3 ½”. You will have a 1 ½” strip left, cut in half at ¾”

3- Cut the ¾” x 12” strip into to pieces at 5 ½”

4- You can use either side of the DSP to create your cards. Have fun!

Putting the cards together

1- Add the 3 ½” piece DSP to the left side of your cardbase.

2- Add the 7/8” cardstock to the back of the ¾” strip of DSP. Then add to the right side of the cardbase.

3- Stamp your greeting on the 2 ½” piece of Whisper White cardstock. Center this ½” above the base of the Vellum cardstock with dimensionals.

4- Stamp your focal point, use coordinating dies to cut out. Add above the greeting on the vellum with dimensionals.

5- Add the vellum to the card by hiding the adhesive behind the elements. Place it so the vellum goes over the small strip on the right by about ¼”.

All Done!

Here is my stepped-up card with some close up images. I have listed some ideas on how to step-up your card below.

Stepped-Up Ideas

1- You can add ribbon behind the greeting before adding to the vellum.

2- You can emboss the vellum with a fun embossing folder.

3- You can add gems or other embellishments around your focal point.

4- Add more stamped or die cut images.

5- Add some shine with Shimmer Paint and a Stampin’ Sponge.
