August 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Handmade Card Idea - World's Greatest Teacher | Stampin Up

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today is my first alternative project using the August 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit – World’s Greatest. For this card I wanted to use both card base patterns from the kit, so I have cut them down and used four rectangles as my background. I love creating alternative cards with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more videos as I continue to create with this month’s kit. I would love to see your finished creations that are inspired by this tutorial!  Here are the dimensions and pieces you will need to create these cards:

From the Kit:

One of each pattern cardbase

Your choice of the main element

Pacific Point 1” Ribbon

2 Gold Banners

Gold Stars

Extra Cardstock:

Thick Whisper White Cardstock card base 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼” (or use a white cardbase from the kit)

Here is a list of the supplies I used to make the cards:

Thick Whisper White Cardstock 140272 $8.25

Soft Suede Ink Pad 147115 $7.50

Wink of Stella 141897 $8.00

Paper Trimmer 152392 $25.00

Simply Shammy 147042 $8.00

Stampin’ Seal Adhesive 152813 $8.00

Multipurpose Liquid Glue 110755 $4.00

Dimensionals 104430 $4.00

Clear Block D 118485 $8.50

Paper Snips 103579 $10.00

Bone Folder 102300 $7.00

Stampin' Pierce Mat 126199 $5.00

Take Your Pick Tool 144107 $10.00

1- Begin by cutting one cardbase in half at 4 ¼”. Save one half for a future alternative card. Cut again at 1 7/8” then rotate and cut at 2 ½”. Then repeat and cut a second rectangle at 2 ½”. Repeat with the other cardbase.

2- Adhere the four rectangles to the front of a white cardbase with liquid glue. Make sure there is an even border around the outside edge (about ¼”) and a thinner border in between the rectangles.

3- Cut the ribbon to 3 ½”. Then flag each end by folding in half and cutting from the fold to the corners. Adhere the ribbon in the center of the card.

4- Add the two Gold Banners over the middle of the ribbon. The tips of the banners should touch the edge of the pattern cardstock. It is okay if they don’t touch in the center of the card.

5- Add your main element – I used the trophy die cut. Add some Wink of Stella to make it shine. Then stamp your choice of greeting on the trophy in Soft Suede Ink. Then adhere to the center of the card with dimensionals.

6- Add six gold stars with glue dots to your card.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step:
