Today’s alternative card is a fun interactive pocket card. As I was designing, I realized I hadn’t used the mini envelopes that are included. I came up with the idea of decorating them and adding them to the front with a little message that can be pulled out. I have made this card using 2 different color schemes and I think you could try any colors you want.
I love creating alternative cards with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more videos as I continue to create with this month’s kit.

- Cut the top off a mini envelope with a paper trimmer. Cut it right below the score line.
- Stamp the large flower pattern image all over the front of the envelope in your choice of color. I used Seaside Spray or Black.
- On the insert 3” x 3” cardstock trim the left and right sides at ¼” from the edge, STOP at ½” from the bottom with a paper trimmer. Then cut the strips off, this should make a “hat” shape.
- Insert this piece into the envelope with the larger side first. Then add a mini dimensional in each corner at the opening. This will stop the cardstock from coming all the way out of the envelope when pulled.
- Add a tag from the kit to the back of the insert. Add 5-6” of bakers twine through the hole and tie a knot.
- Use the Stamparatus to stamp the scallop stamp all the way down the So Saffron or Crushed Curry cardstock with coordinating ink. The stamp isn’t long enough to go across the cardstock so you will have to move the cardstock and repeat stamping going down the other side. Do one side first and then the other.
- Remove the stamp from the plate and reposition it in the middle of the stamped rows. Stamp all the way down the card on both sides.
- Remove the stamp and reposition it between the top two rows. This will give you three rows together with a ¼” space between each grouping. Repeat down both sides.
- Add the pocket at the bottom of the card.
- Stamp the heart image on the heart and then add Happy Valentines Day inside with black ink and add it to the insert.
- Stamp the bee in the circle at the top and them Bee Mine at the bottom in black ink. Attach this to the 2” strip of cardstock. Cut from the sides of the strip a flag shape. Add it to the front of the envelope at an angle with some dimensionals.
- Stamp 2 other bees on the background.
- Add this to a piece of white cardstock. Add then onto the card base.
- Add 3 flower sequins around the greeting.
I have also created this video tutorial showing you how to make this project - check it out!
