December 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit Alternative Project #2 Fun Fold TRIANGLE Cards

Today’s tutorial is another alternative project using Stampin Up’s December’s Paper Pumpkin Kit Something for Everything. Just like the first video, I wanted to do something special and decided to turn them into fun fold cards. These cards are triangle fold card and they open and close in such a fancy way. I love creating alternative cards with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more videos as I continue to create with this month’s kit.

Card #1
1- Take the full sheet of Whisper White cardstock 8.5” x 11” and score it down the middle on both sides. 8.5” scored at 4.25” and 11” scored at 5.5” Flip the cardstock and repeat on the backside. This breaks down the fibers in the paper and makes for a cleaner fold line.
2- The next step is to cut the paper at an angle. With the paper oriented vertically, draw or cut a line from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. You can use a paper cutter or even scissors if you draw a straight line from these two points.
3- Fold the cards – with the 11” side on the left fold the top triangle down and the right triangle over. Use a bone folder to give a nice clean fold.
4- Cut the striped card base from the kit in half at 4.25”
5- Cut then cut each piece to 4” x 5.25”
6- Then cut each piece at an angle from the top right corner to the bottom left corner.
7- Add a stripe piece to the triangle on the right and the solid piece to the top triangle. Leave a slight border of white around each piece.
8- Use the triple banner punch and cut out the ends of the Crushed Curry strip.
9- Adhere the Crushed Curry strip to the center of the card, but only on the top flat. Do not add any adhesive to the right side of the strip.
10- Place the hexagon sticker in the center of the strip. Try to keep it from adhering to the right side of the card.
11- Remove the gold foil leaf sticker and cut in half. Add one half to the top left of center on the hexagon. And the other half on the bottom right of center.
12- Add the 0.5” strip of old olive to the center of the hexagon.
13- Stamp a greeting in Shaded Spruce on the banner shape label from the kit. Add to the card with dimensionals.
14- Remove the sticky from the stickers that is exposed by adding embossing buddy powder/chalk to the back of the stickers so it doesn’t stick to the other paper.
All done.

Card #2
1- Use the second triangle shape Whisper White cardstock from above steps #1 - #3
2- Add a solid piece to the triangle on the right and the stripe piece to the top triangle. Leave a slight border of white around each piece.
3- Cut one side the with triple banner punch from the 2” x 5” strip of Olive Olive
4- Cut a label from the Crushed Curry cardstock. I used a label die from the Painted Labels Die in the Jan – June 2020 Mini Catalog.
5- Punch 2 Sprigs from the Sprig Punch in both Shaded Spruce and Gold Foil
6- Adhere the elements together off the card. Start by adding the Crushed Curry label to the center of the Old Olive flag.
7- Add a Shaded Spruce and a Gold Foil sprig to the top left and bottom right corners of the label.
8- Add adhesive to the center of the Crushed Curry label and wrap 16” of white bakers twine in a spiral.
9- Stamp a greeting in Shaded Spruce ink to a banner shape label and add it to the center of the label with dimensionals.
10- Add the Grapefruit Grove strip behind everything and some small Grapefruit Grove small flowers from the kit.
11- Add all these elements to the middle of the front of your card. Adhere it only to the top solid triangle so the card can open.
All done!

I have also made this video walking through each step.
